I am looking for a small breed dog. My daughter wants one for her 13th birthday. She wants either a shih tzu, maltese or a yorkie. We would like a male, but will take a female. I am looking for an affordable puppy. Anyone with any suggestions, please let me know.

You should definately take a look at petfinder.com. They have all breeds available for adoption. We found our cat on pet finders and my cousing found her dog on petfinders. We were both very pleased. You will be making your daughter happy and saving a homeless animal. What a great thought!!!
You should check out Clifton Animal Shelter. That's where I adopted my dog from. They are very clean there and take good care of their animals. I think it is better to adopt a pet rather than purchase one. For one thing it is so much cheaper, just a $50 donation instead of almost $1000 and your animal is neutered for free. Also I think a pet that is adopted is more loyal.

I know the perfect place. Its small but the breeder has all small dogs and they are healthy. I got my shih tzu from there and very affordable compared to other places like in the malls. She is great with the dogs. Here is her site and she is located in Nutley which I think is close to you.

you can type in the breed youre looking for, the age, gender. most of the dogs/puppies from these rescues are trained, spayed/neutered and are up to date with their shots. and the best part...you'd be saving a life.

You should adopt a puppy- look online at petfinders.com. There are rescue groups for all breeds and some wonderful shelters. This way you can save money and a life! You can also check Craig's List- sometimes people list puppies there.
