We are moving to the Northside Independent School District, close to the Hyatt Hill Country Resort (9800 Hyatt Resort Dr., San Antonio 98251) the end of September and I am looking for a community recommended pre-school for our son who turns 3 in Nov. I had him registered in a City Recreation Center in our old State but since we are moving I need to find him another pre-school. Does anyone have any recommendations that is not too far from the Hyatt Hill Country Resort? Thanks so much.

What can I do next?

Colonial Hills United Methodist School ###-###-####) off of Vance Jackson between Wurzbach and Callaghan is one of the best. They are very child-centered and well-prepare children for elementary school. Our children attended there, and parents drove from Stone Oak and the Dominion just to have their children go to school there. They have both part-time and full-time programs. Their web address is http://www.colonialhills.info/

My kids went to UUMC (University United Methodist church) Day School, on DeZavala and Vance Jackson. main phone: 210/696-1033
Excellent school with very caring teachers! There is always a waiting list b/c they have a fabulous reputation.
If you were wait listed this year, and got in even at the end of the year....you would have priority registration when your son was 4.

Many churches in San Antonio have very good preschool programs. The School District only offers pre-school for Spanish speaking kids who need to learn English before kinder. We found that out when we moved down here---very different than the rest of the country.

Look into Silicon Dr. Family Center. They are located near Dezavala on Network, behind Krispy Kreme area. they are a small center and NAEYC accredited. The teachers are very nice and caring. I think their website is www.sdfc.biz

I have been very happy with the preschool at the JCC(www.jccsanantonio.org). Sent both kids there. it's at the corner of Wurzbach and Military.

Discovery School was also on our short list.

University United Methodist is also very good.

You can go to the NAEYC.org website to search for nationally accredited preschools in san antonio. I believe all of the above are. Good luck with your move. We moved to Northside three years ago from out of state and are very happy here

Where in Northside are you moving to? It encompasses a large area and can take 40min or more to get from one side to the other. We live over off the west side off Culebra and will be attending Kids of the Kingdom off Braun and 1604. It came highly reccomended by several people.
