HI J.! Oregon is beautiful...I have a brother that lives there. I bet you miss it tons!?! :) But welcome to your new home in Minnesota, hopefull you'll like it here just as much.

Actually, I live kind of far from you (a bit farther south)...but at least I can offer a few recommendations to bring you closer to your goal. Have you checked out your logal Mom's Club organization??...www.momsclub.org. for about $20-25 a year you can get a great and informing monthly mailer of activities and get in contact with mom's near your local neighborhood. They schedule monthly meetings and playdates and it also gives you a good idea of what fun things to do with your kids locally. Also, if your group was like mine, it was especially helpful when the baby comes...my group had a 'Caring Moms' facet, where I was delivered a ton of homecooked free meals a couple times a week for 2 weeks! Also, there's another organization called Mothers Connection that meets in EP too that's a bit more 'rounded' and is another great way to connect with moms: www.mothersconnection.info. or, email ____@____.com if you're having problems with the above link. In the interim, there's a great place that offers various fun physical/active classes for little ones called MY GYM in Eden Prairie near Rainbow. At 3, you can just watch (nice being PG) and talk with other moms that will be there also watching their 3 year olds...their phone: ###-###-####. You can call and sign up for a free 'sample' class first to check it out up front. The owners are really great with kids and I think you and Megan will really like it. Otherwise, as far as good preschool programs...seems like the trend is private schools are the best at this age: either a good local Montessori or the religious schools (most are not picky about needing to be a certain denomination this early in the game). Welcome, Best of Luck and Congratulations on your new baby!!

Hi, my name is S. and I also live in Eden Prairie. Check out the Family Center in EP, they have lots of wonderful preschool classes for kids your child's age.

Also, I belong to an online mom's group that is specifically for planning playgroups with our kids, and mom's nights out for us! If you are interested, check it out at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MinnesotaMomsConnection/

Hi J., I'm J. in Bloomington. I'm a working mom of two, and moved from Colorado last Summer. I don't know about preschools but would like to invite you for a "Eden Prairie Play Place" outing with a couple of moms with kids this Saturday if you'd like to join.... email me if you want. Thanks!

HI J.-

Welcome to cold Minnesota :)
A little about me and my family: I live in Chanhassen (right on the boarder of EP)my husband and myself moved here (from Minneapolis) when we had our daughter Haley (just turned 2 in Dec) I am going to be turning 30 in March and my husband is 36.
I know of a couple of Preschools in EP. They are already enrolling for next school year. St Andrew's church on Hwy 212 and Little Lambs Preschool on Hwy 5. I have my daughter (Haley 2) signed up for preschool at a great little place in Excelsior off of Hwy 7, they have an older 2 yr old program and for 3 and 4 year olds they have 2,3, and 4 day programs.
As far as play groups: Gymboree by the EP center is a great place to meet other moms, EP Center has a great play area outside of Kohl's that we go to all the time and we are also members of LifeTime Fitness. They opened a new location in Chanahassen here, and they have free daycare when you are working out. So you can workout and shower etc and for 2 hours your child gets to play in the supervised childcare area. My daughter has a blast there, and is always asking to go to the gym, so it is making me workout.
Hope this helps.

Have a great day

Andria
