I'm looking for a high-quality preschool in south or southwest Minneapolis for my 3-year-old son. I'm particuarly interested in schools that emphaize social and emotional development (as well as cognitive development). If the school also has an infant and toddler program (for my infant daughter) that would be great, too. Thanks!

What can I do next?

If you're willing to drive, I can't say enough wonderful things about the Ebenezer Intergenerational program in Burnsville (near Ridges hospital). I found out about it from a mom on this site!

My 3 year old has positively thrived in their environment. You can learn more about their philosophy/curriculum through the Fairview website. They also have an infant/toddler program that a future child will be in!

Good luck!

My little girl used to go to St John's on 49th and Nicollet when she was a toddler. We really liked it. They don't have an infant program but they have a super preschool. We go to the JCC's Early Childhood Center in St. Louis Park now...located off of highway 100 and Cedar Lake Road. They do have an infant program and their preschool is supurb. The facility is the nicest I've seen and swimming, gym, music, and art classes are all part of a regular week. Good luck!

Fraser school Richfield (right off of Hwy 62 & Penn Ave) is AWESOME! "Fraser School is a division of Fraser, a nationally renowed nonprofit organization providing education, healthcare and housing to children of all abilities and adults with special needs. Fraser has served the community since 1935. You can look at their website at www.fraser.org or call Colleen Polson at ###-###-####. I've had both of my children there for two years now and they both love it!

Good luck,
A.
