Hello Mamas - I need to find a pediatrition for my son in the Westminster area. I am looking for a doctor that is supportive and knowledgeable about breastfeeding and has a good bedside manner. I also would like a doctor that would work with an alternative vaccination schedule if possible. I am pro vaccination - just don't want them all at once.

We have not had the best experiences with our current ped. The last time we were there for my very sick three month old son (possibly RSV)she left the room without telling us the appointment was over. I waited for 10 minutes before I realized she was not coming back. I still had questionsregarding his treatment and was very frustrated. Thanks for your help!

So What Happened?

Thank you all so much for taking the time to answer! I wish I had asked this question while pregnant - it would have made life so much easier! We ended up going to Arvada Pediatrics because I received several comments regarding them and (they are also only 4 miles away from us). We had a wonderful experience there - all of the staff were very friendly. Our nurse was fabulous - she really has a way with babies. We saw Dr. Weis and she was wonderful - very thorough and pleasant, and she definately helped to calm my worries :)

This one is fantastic! Dr. Jon-Paul Jordan is with Cornerstone Pediatric Associates and has been terrific with my two little guys. His number is ###-###-#### and the address is: 90 Health Park Dr., Ste. 160, Louisville 80027.

Hi Sarah,

I take my children to see Dr, Michael Starbuck at Arvada Pediatric Associates. They have two locations, one in Arvada and the other in Broomfield. He is absolutely wonderful with my kiddos and he is very patient with answering all my questions. There are times when he is running late with his appointments, but that is becuase he does take his time with his patients and families!! His wife, Katherine is also a great doc there!!

Hi Sarah,

The pediatrician that our son sees is Dr. Susan Spoerke. She is with Mountainland Pediatrics and has a couple of offices. We go to one in Westminster on Fox drive, near 88th and Huron. Great office, great staff, wonderful NPs, and very responsive. I'm not sure how she handles delayed vaccination schedules, as I have done them as recommended. She is really great, though and I think she would respect your desires on that. When you leave messages for nursing staff, you WILL get a call back, even if it is "after hours".

Good luck, and I know how important this is! Don't go back to someone you are not comfortable with.

We have been extremely satisfied with out son's doctor. We actually us a family practitioner and I do not feel at all like we are missing anything. He has been highly supportive of our holistic approach to medicine as well as accepting to our delayed vaccination schedule. The practice does have a peditrician in the group which our Dr. call in when needed. If you think a family doctor may be right for your family check out Dr. Hirons at Rocky Mountain Primary Care. They are moving their office a will soon be located on the corner of old Wadsworth and 92nd in Westminster.

I go to Arvada Pediatrics in Broomfield - Dr. Kathryn Starbuck is our doctor. I really like them and we have been on the Dr. Sears alternative vaccine schedule since my son was born and they have been fine with that.

Hi Sarah,
I have experienced the same thing with rude bedside manners and being a first time mom and never being through this before, I really wanted someone attentive!
I moved to Partners in Pediatrics, they are in Denver & on the south/east side of town.

If I were WEst I would ABSOLUTELY go to Dr Michael Brazelton at Pediatrics West!

I have heard him speak at health talks about nutrition, he's funny, dresses in bow ties, can relate well to kids. Nutrition is a huge part of health!

I hope that helps!

Sarah,

We also use Arvada Peds at the north office. We see Dr. Herman but when my little one was sick with double ear infection and RSV in Feb. we saw each of the doctors in the clinic at some point. I was very impressed that we recieved the same level of care and concern from each doctor. Each doctor took the time to read the chart and was able to tell if my daughter was getting better or worse. They all were very patient and answered all my questions. I especially like the fact that they have printed information with general instructions to take home with you as well as a lot of information posted on the website. Good Luck!
