Looking for a Pediatrician NW Chicago Area

My son will be 3 in July and have his 3 yr. check up. His current Pediatrician is not very helpful and he cries the minute we walk in till we leave. He really hates going there. It's a traumatic experience everytime we have to go in. It seems the doctor and the nurse don't know how to handle him so he doesn't cry when he sees them. Maybe a male Pediatrician would be better he's more comfortable around men more than women. We have All Kids so they have to accept that insurance also. We just went there because he's sick he cried through the whole 45 minutes we were there, I felt so sorry for him. I want him to be more comfortable with his Pediatrician and to like him. Please help. Thank you so much in advance. I just don't know where to turn.

We go to North Park Pediatrics at Foster and Pulaski. Dr. Julie-Elba Quinones there has been our ped since our kids were born (now 13 and 10 years). We love her so much we still go there even though we moved to the south side of Chicago almost 8 years ago. Occassionally we've seen the other doctor there for a sick visit and he's good too - Dr. Morse. Good luck finding a new doctor.

I'm not sure how NW you are, but I'm in the south suburbs. If it's possible or you REALLY need a new pediatrician for now check out Hahn Pediatric. http://hpgkids.com/ I don't know if they're too far for you. If you do find a doctor just google their name or office to see if anyone is posting comments somewhere on the web.

We love our pediatricians. Drs. Toussaint and Powell ###-###-####. We see Dr. Powell, but have seen both. Dr. Powell remembers things about our sons, now 6 and 8 from visit to visit. They are at Resurrection Medical Center on Talcott near Harlem. Good luck! Finding a doctor with who everyone in your family is comfortable can be difficult and stressful.

We love our pediatricians: Parkside Pediatrics, located in the professional services building adjacent to Lutheran General. There are 2 docs - 1 male and 1 female, and you can indicate your preference as to which one you see each time you check in for an appointment, or you can just take whichever is available first, which is what we do. Whenever you call with a question, you speak directly to a doctor, no matter how trivial the question. Nurses are not allowed to speak with parents/patients or take questions. They do NOT have a separate sick waiting area, but you can always wait in the hall if you're not comfortable in the waiting area.
