Looking for a New Doctor

I have United Healthcare insurance that will no longer be accepted at St. Luke's (which is where I delivered my first child) so when we are ready to have a child again I won't be able to see that doctor group anyways (I can see them for GYN, not OB).

I really liked the fact that the doctors were all women (My doctor was Kelly Nichols and I loved her). Can anyone give me a recommendation for their doctor? Someone that doesn't deliver at St. Luke's and I would also like to be up north (Liberty or NKC Hospitals would be great). Thank you so much ladies!

What can I do next?

Heartland women's health care has great obgyn's. They do have men as well as women doctors. They are located at NKCH.

I like Heartland Women's Health Care in NKC. They are in the Pavilion of the NKC Hospital and only deliver there. I have seen them all over the past 13 years and still love them. I also see Lisa Fitch the Nurse Practitioner when I need to get in. They also have a nice selection of female doctors on staff too.

One thing that they can not tell you (this goes for all OB's) But if you know that you only want one or two particular ones in the group to actually deliver your baby, then you can personally talk to them, let them know your wishes and then put it in writing to put in your charts. Then when you go in labor, they will do everything they can to try to be the ones to deliver. Now they will still make you see everyone through the pregnancy, just in case.... This at least was what I was able to do with all three of my pregnancies.

Good Luck!

Well she is right in saying you need to get a routine check up each year. This should be cover on your health insurance All routine check up are cover once a year. This is just as important to you as it is to the insurance. Don't get mad at the nurse she is just doing her job. I have a doctor fron NKC Hospital I also have united Health Care. You should be able to go on there web site. and look for a doctor. Mine is Women Health Clinic at North Kansas City Hospital. Mine is a male doctor. But I like him and I see him once a year for my refills and my yearly check up this is for your protection not anyone eles. Well that is my response to your question.

I know you can go to Liberty Hospital. I used to have United Healthcare insurance and go to Northland OBGYN at Liberty Hospital. They have several doctors, but they are not all female. I have seen a few of them so far and I like them all, very kind and thorough and I think they are awesome!! I really hope you find someone you like and trust!!

I went to a group of doctors at North Kansas City Hospital and I just loved them. They are a group of like 6doctors. The thing is that they are a mix of male and female but are all really good. They explain everything to you and make you feel at ease with the whole thing. There phone number is ###-###-####. You can get one to the yearly exams (I would suggest Dr Spell-the female) and then they make you see all doctors through out your pregnancy that whatever doctor is on call that day you have meant them and they know your situation. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks, R.

Myself and several friends go to Northland Obstretrics and Gynecolody in Liberty. They are located in the doctors building right next to Liberty Hospital. I see Dr. Cargill and some of my friends see Dr. Reardon. Their number is ###-###-#### or their website is www.northlandobgyn.com to see if they take your insurance. Good luck and God Bless.

We're in the same boat in as much as we, too, have United Healthcare, and our primary care physician is part of the St. Luke's Northland group. My GYN is Dr. James Morgan with Heartland Women's Healthcare, 2790 Clay Edwards Drive, NKC, MO 64116, phone (8160 ###-###-####. Their doctors and staff are just wonderful. I don't believe you'd go wrong with anyone there. Now we just need to find a new primary care doc!

Hello L.,

I also live up north, near Parkville, and like being with an all women Doctor group. I go to the Women's Clinic of Johnson County. They have offices at Shawnee Mission Med Center, which is only about 20 min. from my home. They also have offices at Menorah, which is near my work. I see Dr. Shipman and love her! I would avoid Dr. Maturo--she is the only one I've really disliked there.

Hope this helps!

I was really happy with Heartland Women's Health, at North Kansas City hospital. My doctor was Dr. Seifert. They are not all women, however.
