I currently have a pain management Doctor that I am very dissapointed in. I have to wait a minimum of 45 minutes mostly an hour plus per visit to be seen, only then to be done seeing the Dr. in less than 5 minutes. The office staff is not very nice considering that they are dealing only with people that are in extreme pain. So, now that I've ranted, I've deceided to make the jump and find another Dr. If anyone knows of a caring professional that specializes in chornic pain(I have back and nerve damage issues)please let me know. I really need to find someone great.

What can I do next?

If you would consider acupuncture, which is wonderful for pain issues, I would suggest my doctor, who seriously, is one of the 3 most wonderful, loving, understanding, caring people I have ever met. His name is Dr. David Karaba and he is at the East West Medical Group on Commonwealth Ave. in Fullerton. ###-###-####. Best wishes.

You don't say where you are. I can recommend two chiropractors, one in Long Beach just north of Seal Beach off the 405, and one in the Fairfax area of LA. Acupuncture is another option. I would also recommend you check out www.biomagscience.net. Look at the testimonials. They are quite impressive. I have used magnets for various things for years. This is the best company I've ever found that deals with magnets. If you are interested in a completely different approach I do energy healing. Feel free to contact me for more information.

My very good friend Dr. Tom Bakman is an amazing Sports Medicine Chiropractor and his partner is Dr. Claudio Carvalho, DO. He is a pain management specialist. When I was unable to walk from severe sciatica, he and Tom were the ones who fixed me. I haven't had that bad an episode for over 3 years now. Dr. Carvalho did steroid injections and gave me therapy. definitely worth checking out. Tell them E. Volz sent you. Tom has been a friend of our family's for over 6 years now.
Here is the link to their page: http://formadocs.com/

Good luck!

I see a few others have suggested acupuncture also. I have seen a doctor in Costa Mesa. He is a anesthesiologist ( a real MD) that does acupuncture. His therapy is called NeuroBioEnergetics. I am not sure if you are open to "alternative" therapy but he really works! He does not "manage" your pain, he cures you of it! I have RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) and he has helped me GREATLY! His name is Dr. Tong, he is in Costa Mesa. You can google him for his contacts. Hope you get some relief from somewhere, I understand chronic pain first hand. Best wishes.

I understand why the doctors can't spend that much time with you but it drives me crazy is that this kind of medical practicing is causing a huge problem so RUN from this practice because there are doctors that will take the time. This is so important for you at this time. You don't say where you are located as it would be nice to have someone close.

Have you tried acupunture? This has been my saving grace. Also, have you worked with a DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) who wants to make sure that everything is in working order and not just to treat the symptoms. Sometimes with pain you can manage some of it by managing other areas of the body. Acupunture is the way to go as that is what they do, treat the meridians that run through body and clear them so that the body can help to heal itself.

If you are in the OC area, Dr. Moon is over under the John Wayne Airport fly zone, off of the 73 fwy at Campus. ###-###-####

My DO is Dr. Mary Berry in Anaheim Hills ###-###-####

I would contact Dr. Richards in Glendora. Expensive, but well worth it. She doesn't deal with the insurance companies so you would have to pay out of pocket and then seek reimbursement from your ins. company. ###-###-####
