Hello O....I am currently under the care of Pathways Behavioral Health for depression. The staff is wonderful and all the doctors care genuinely about the patients. Thier fees are based on income (sliding scale) and they also accept most insurance plans. You can check them out at www.pathwaysonline.org Hope this helps you out!

It all depends on what you are looking for. I am a drug rep who calls on the majority of psychs in south kansas city. Feel free to email me directly at ____@____.com
There are many good ones, and it depends on where you live, which insurance you have, and what your needs are.

I highly recommend Dr. Stephen Samuelson. He's also in the Kansas City Psychiatric Group. I've been seeing him for about 5 or 6 years, and he's extremely caring and empathetic. My niece, who is 20 years younger than I am, also has seen him and thought he was wonderful. I see him for depression, and she saw him for an eating disorder. I thought my depression was under control until I saw Dr. Sam and discovered that I truly wasn't at my best. He helped adjust my meds and the difference in how I felt was incredible! I had no idea how bad I'd felt until I realized how GOOD I felt in comparison. I truly feel thankful for his insight and knowledge in being able to help me be so positive and happy in my life!

I'm a Psychology student at UMKC. I would recommend calling the Psych department and asking for referrals of psychiatrists and counselors near you. They'd be a great resource for you with people to recommend. Good luck!
