Looking for a Good Preschool in My Area

We have just moved to New Albany. My 4-year-old daughter was set to begin preschool this fall, and I'm anxious to find her a good place close to our home. My husband works in Westerville so something close to New Albany or Westerville would be great.

We don't have much time to investigate and look for openings so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks to those who responded to my request. I visited four different preschools--all church schools with 1/2 day programs: Outreach Christian in New Albany, Little Blessings in Westerville, Central College, Gahanna Christian Academy, and Gahanna Early Experience Center. Since we were so late in the process, many of them had no openings or openings only in the afternoon, which doesn't work as well with my daughter's napping schedule. At the last minute, a spot opened up in a M, T, W morning class at Little Blessings, and that's where she'll be going. I feel really good about this school and about sending her there. It got a few nice reviews on the Insider Pages. But all the ones I visited were nice, so if you're looking, the ones I mentioned all seem good.

As a side note, places like Children's World are more set up as daycare centers with preschool curriculum--very impressive and professional if you need daycare as well, but very expensive. If you're in the market for just a preschool program of 2 1/2 hours, I'd recommend a church school. The church schools ranged from $105-145 per month whereas Children's World was more like $100 per day.

We just moved here this summer from Atlanta. I don't know where New Albany or Westerville are, but we are in Bexley near downtown Columbus. Our 4-year-old son is enrolled at Christ Lutheran Preschool, 2314 E. Main. It was highly recommended to us, and I have been very impressed with their VBS and Sunday School programs. I don't know if they have openings, but their phone is ###-###-####. Hope this helps. :-)

Hi D.,

My kids have been going to the Children's World right past the intersection of Sunbury Rd and Dempsey Rd in Westerville for the past three years. The Directer is Alva, the Assistant Director is Melissa and all the teachers there are wonderful. It would probably be right on the way to your husband's work too. Feel free to call me on my cell ###-###-#### if you have any additional questions...

Hello, D..
I realate to you as I relocated to Columbus, Ohio from St Paul, MN. We found a wonderful daycare in Westerville called the Learning Ladder. I'm not sure if they have openings, but we have had a wonderful experience for our 3 children (age 1, 2, and 5). They are located near Schrock and Cooper road. Kind of by St Anns Hospital.
Address is 695 Cooper Rd, Westerville, OH, 43081
Phone: ###-###-####.
Contact is Sherry.

Daycare to avoid is The Treasure Chest!

Good luck, H.
