Hi S.,
Congratulations! I highly recommend Dr. Sharon Wong. She is located at Portland Adventist Medical Center. I used her as my OB and was very impressed. She is very kind, personable, and compassionate. I delievered at Adventist and had the most wonderful experience. The nurses, anesthesiologist, and Dr. Wong were great. I used to work for Adventist that is why I wanted to deliever there, just because I knew the facility, but now I would recommend it to people because of their outstanding care they give.
I hope this helps. Take care.
S.

I would highly recommend A. Midwifey in SE. Although they ar not a hospital, they are a birthing center with the best midwives I've met in Portland. They can take insurance too if yours covers CNMs. If you really want to have the best & safest possible birth experience, I would highly suggest that you don't have a hospital birth unless you are a high risk mom. They're site is: http://www.almamidwifery.com/ & I recommend seeing laura.

First off Congrats to you and your hubby!
My OB is Dr. Jill Shaw. She has an office at Adventist and I think Providence too. She is AMAZING!! She delivered my youngest in November 2007, but we still stop by to see her whenever we are at Adventist for pediatric checkups. She is the ONLY female Dr. I have ever had that I actually like. She is warm and caring and gentle!!! And she really goes out of her way to make your life easier. Both my girls adore her and she loves hugging on them when we visit. She was even as great to deliver (planned c-section) my baby on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Adventist is a great hospital too! If you need a pediatric Dr., East Portland Pediatric also at Adventist is full of great Dr's and nurses too. And they have AWESOME family friendly hours. (open weekends!)

CONGRATULATIONS!! I had my (1st) son last July :) The only doctor you need to see is Dr. David Sargent. He is absolutely wonderful!!!! His office is located across the street from PAMC and he delivers there in the hospital. He's experienced, knowledgeable, encourages natural methods, kind (he's a father of 2, adoptive parent of 4 and foster parent to many) and he'll take the time to answer all your questions. Also, and not like this matters really, but he does this package deal with prenatal care where you pay one price for any and all visits (you can ask his office about that). Good luck!!
