Luvs gets my vote. i couldn't tell the difference between pampers and luvs except for the price. my first son had a leakage problem if i used any other besides Luvs (or pampers) - he was a HEAVY sleeper - the diaper has changed from 11 years ago but that's all i've really used with my now 2 year old, and i haven't had any problems...

When my daughter was in diapers I only used Pampers(from Swaddlers to cruisers) they seem to hold the most liquid. I don't like huggies it used to leave sand like crystals on her bum, and didn't use Luvs.Good luck!

My son had the same issue . . . the only thing that worked for us was Pampers in a size larger than he used during the day . . .

i used huggies over night. they normally did the trick but she didnt sleep as long. normally 11 or 12 hours max. also i have heard of people using 2 diapers. just one over top of the other to catch any leak. also, i am not sure if your daughter has taken an interest in using the potty yet. but if she is curious, having her pee right before bed may cut back on the amount of flow through the night. i had to cut back my daughters drinks in the evening. stopped about an hour before bed and made sure she peed on the potty twice and we were good. i had to bribe her with an m and m. it was just one, so she never had sugar over load or anything. but a friend of mine is using the m and m's trick with her child and it seems to be working for her too! (but i wouldnt force your daughter to go unless she is into it) i hope you find someone that works for your situation.

Huggies overnight, or pampers baby-dri. The huggies overnight's are more expensive, but are definately more absorbent. Just another Mom's opinion!

Hi M.~(that is how I spell my daughters minddle name)
This may sound odd, but what about putting the diaper on backwards? Higher in the front instead of the back. Or you could out one on the correct way, and another one the wrong way.
You could also use plastic pants to prevent leaking(may still leak though). Good luck!

we use cloth diapers both during the day and during the night. I recently switched to using hemp diaper liners at night because they are much more absorbent than the microfiber I was using, and now my daughter rarely wakes up with a leak.

You could definitely use a hemp doubler inside your disposable diaper. They sell for about $5 each and are available at tons of online cloth diaper shops. Check out http://www.knickernappies.com/store/c/30-Inserts-Doublers...

Good luck!

I totally agree with Karen B...LUVS is what worked with all 3 of my children...I had tried huggies, pampers, etc...and nothing kept them dry like luvs...but as she said too...it is preference and also some trial and error until you find what works. Again, agree with limiting fluids before bed and changing just before she falls asleep...at times I would check my children just before I turned in and if I noticed the diaper was wet I would change them again...they would either sleep thru the change or go right back to sleep so you need to know if changing it then would keep her awake...would NOT want that.

Hi M.~

I used Huggies nighttime diapers for my son, and never had much problem with leakage, and he used to drink quite a lot through the night and really soak his diapers... another suggestion that I've heard of other people using, is putting a maxi pad across the inside top of the front of the diaper to catch whatever overflow is going toward the top of the diaper. People have said this really works. Worth a try!

Good luck - I know what a pain it is changing sheets all the time! Not to mention your poor little one soaking herself! :)

She may need to be switched to the next size diaper. this happened to my son when he needed a bigger diaper size. make sure to limit the fluid intake before bed. change her diaper right before she goes to sleep. I know that pampers and huggies have the overnight diapers. they are more expensive. see if a bigger diaper remedies your situation.

We also use cloth and almost never have any leaking issues. We use Fuzi Bunz and I usually double stuff them at night. I like the microfiber stuffers, but some people really like hemp. You can get them at cottonbabies.com or ebay.

I've had better luck with pampers baby dry. you could also try going up a size from what she normally needs (just for the night) - I have friends that swear by that trick.

I had the same problem with huggies.. I can't STAND the brand. I now use only Pampers swaddlers (for the babies)/cruisers (for the bigger kids). Never a leak. My son goes A LOT at night and he wears the size 5, my daugher also goes a ton and she's in a size 3 (and a belly sleeper), never any leaks.

Good luck!

There is something called a diaper doubler that you can buy, I think made for use with cloth diapers, but why not with a disposable? OR what about putting a cloth O. inside like a liner at nighttime?

I have 5 kids. Don't know if they had Luvs with my 22 year old, but only Luvs worked with my 14 year old and only Luvs worked on my triplets, two boys and a girl, all shaped different.

You'll find many differing opinions as each family has their preference and each child is different.

Try making sure their last drink is at dinner time with nothing after that. Put a fresh diaper on right before bed. Flip the front edge inside the diaper to help fend off some of the wet. Be sure they have the proper fit. Too snug or too loose will cause problems. Buy some waterproof pads to put directly under her while she sleeps. We always used waterproof mattress pads under the sheets as well to protect the mattress. Sounds like she holds on to her urine for a while and lets it all go at night.

I have done a few things to remedy this myself. I used to use Diaper Doublers with my 14 year old and 8 year old. I had a hard time finding them this time around, so I ordered over the internet. They worked well with the Huggies Overnight (one size larger). I haven't needed the doublers for awhile. The Huggies Overnight have been doing the trick since he is older and drinking less.
When we recently ran out of the Huggies, I just used the Pampers Overnites I had bought. Leaky! I have to use a doubler in those and he's good. (I have recently found doublers at Babies R Us.)
I've been pretty faithful to Pampers Swaddlers and Premium, but have gotten some Luvs this summer. Thinking of switching to those now.
Good luck!

I was having the same problem with my twins - they were even leaking through the overnight huggies. All I did was limit what they drink before bed and it worked. (for the longest time they downed 8 oz of milk right before bed so I just halfed that)

We love Huggies and they don't contain petrolatum (like Pampers and Kirkland), which is huge for us. Our son lies on his tummy as well. I found that going up one size in the overnighters helped a lot. He has yet to sleep thru the night, so there's still a diaper change, but he'll go 7-8hrs with the same diaper and no leaks. It sure is heavy when it comes off! haha

M.,

I had really good luck with Pampers Cruisers Ultra which as far as I know are only sold at BJs right now. To cut costs we've switched to Parents Choice (walmart brand) and I think they are pretty comparable as far as how much they hold.

One other option is to buy a box of diapers in the next size up and put the larger diaper on overtop of the size she usually wears. On nights where she stays dry, you can reuse the outer diaper.

Huggies overnights. Go up one size from her day time diaper. If its still a problem I would recommend buying a wool diaper cover to put over the disposable (aristocrats is a good brand) they feel like cotton, but absorb liquid w/out feeling wet. You can use them multiple times before they need to be washed. I bought mine at www.greenmountaindiapers.com

Also, i she really isn't moving & being wet obviously isn't bothering her; I would buy some sheet savers & put one under her each night. Then you don't have to change the sheet, just the sheet saver. I'm sure you would be changing her outfit in the morning anyway, so its just changing the sheets that's a pain..
