I live in 77079 and my Ex lives in 77077 and my kids go to holiday care in 77042! My son was molested in the Children's World Learning Center on Whittington and Dairy Ashford a few years ago.

I do have some advice on making your final decision from personal experience. Check out the state licensing board for childcare facilities before you put your child there for many hours a day!

I didn't know that you could go online and see if they are violating state laws and how they are doing but you can. It took my son being molested at a daycare to learn about this website, and I don't want that to happen to anyone else.

http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child...

Search for daycares or residental providers in your area, then examine the page for that facility carefully. At the bottom of the page. There is a sentence that says something similar to "This operation is scheduled to be inspected every 10-12 months."

I have explained what this means below... choose the place that is visited less frequently by licensing, this means they are always in compliance with state laws, have not had any complaints and if there is an issue they fix it IMMEDIATELY.

A monitoring plan is a schedule of the frequency of inspections at a home or operation. There are three monitoring plans. Plan 1 is a more frequent plan.

* Plan 1 operations are inspected at least every 3 - 5 months for licensed operations and every 10 - 12 months for Registered Family Homes. (NEVER PUT YOUR CHILD HERE)
* Plan 2 is considered the basic plan for operations. Inspections are conducted for operations on plan 2 at least every 6 - 9 months for licensed operations and every 22 - 24 months for Registered Family Homes. (THINK ABOUT IT CAREFULLY)
* Plan 3 is a less frequent plan. Inspections are scheduled for operations on plan 3 every 10 - 12 months for licensed operations and every 34 - 36 months for Registered Family Homes. (THIS IS THE BEST PLACE)

Further down below that sentence you can actually review the findings of the last several visits by licensing and if there were any violations of law and safety. Depending on what those are and if they were corrected my also sway your decision.

Also the daycares know what this stuff means but they often (especially if they are bad facilities) hide their status and information. It is state law that if you ask to look at their licensing inspection records and violations they must be presented for your review, they should also be placed somewhere public, not hidden away in an office or behind a door (public posting of records is also state law).

My son attended the pre-k program at Kid Fit on Westheimer and now he attends the after-school program. He loves it. I know there is a age minimum of 2 and somewhat potty trained. You would have both children in the same classroom attending the Pre-K program. The owners are Dana and John Aleman. They are wonderful. Oh, by the way, this is a Christian environment and they do one exercise everyday that's Christian related. I have a girlfriend who's daughter has been going there for 5 years. She did the Pre-K program since she was 2 and now she has continued with the after school care. Because she did the pre-k program for so long, now she's in the first grade and in the gifted and talented program. The full-time Pre-K is $130 per week for the first child and the second child will get a discount off of the $130 per week. This price is very comparable for the area. They also offer Tae Kwon Do as the children get a little older. This has been the best choice for us. Check them out. Phone number is ###-###-####. I don't know the address off hand, but if you know where The Fox and Hound is on Westheimer; they are right behind there. Dana and John are wonderful. Thanks for reading and good luck. J.

My kids used to go to La Petite Academy on Briar Forest and Kirkwood. They were a really good daycare. Now I stay home and they don't go, but they keep asking me when they are going back. Also, check into getting NCI. I only paid $40.00 a week for child care with help from NCI. Call the worksource for the website to apply on. There might be a waiting list, but its worth waiting on.

I would like to speak with you in further detail about your needs. my name is M. and I'm a 30 year old single mom of a very handsome 4 yr old. i currently work a temporary job but i'm considering starting a child care in my apartment once this job ends. for the first 2 1/2 years of my son's life, i stayed home with him and watched children to make ends meet. i love working with children and spending time with them and would absolutely love the opportunity to help raise your children outside of a daycare center environment.

i just moved off of Wilcrest/Harwin and i do believe that is the area you requested.

you can call me at ###-###-#### anytime.

please let me know when you need someone. i will need to give my current sitter two weeks notice that he will not be coming any longer.

sincerely,

M. L.
