I am looking for a church that has a designated area for parents with kids or a church that doesn't mind that I keep my daughter with me. I am going by myself and would rather be with her.

Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

We have been going to the NorthWest Church of Christ and love it! It has a non-denominational feel to it and they have a nice room with a great view for parents who keep their children with them. Some parents keep their children with them in the auditorium and just keeps them busy with crayons, books, stickers, etc... We are located off 1604 and I believe Braun.

Our family has been a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on loop 410 across Ingram Park Mall from for about three years now. The first time we went we felt like we were home. It is an amazingly accepting, inclusive church. There are always at least a few children in each service and nobody minds. There is also a wonderful nursery if you do ever decide you want a break, but there is no pressure to use it.
We just got a new pastor in January and he is great. I love his sermons and he is very focused on making the children's programming even better than it already is.
If you would like to attend with us sometime. Please feel free to email me at ____@____.com. There is a luncheon after the 11am service on the first Sunday of every month. It usually costs $5, but for visitors it is free.
Good luck and God bless,
A.

We go to River City Community Church off of 1604 & Redland Rd. They have an area where you can sit with your daughter, see everything, and hear everything. There is also a wonderful, safe children's ministry there when you get to the point where you are comfortable to leave her there. My kids both go and they both had a hard time separating from me, but the volunteers were very sweet and cared for them and loved on them and now they love going! The volunteers are the same ones each week which is nice for the kids and you! I would just encourage you to try a church more than once to get a good feel for it. I hope you will come visit our church! The service times are 8, 9:30, & 11:15. Website: www.reallife.org Good luck!

I'm not sure where you live, but Community Bible Church at 1604 & Redland is a great church.
Lots of parents take their kids into church with them and they also have a little coffee bar area where you can sit with your daughter and they have tv monitors of what is going on in the sanctuary.
Also, their kids programs are great if you get to the point that you feel comfortable putting your daughter into Sunday School.
Let me know if you have any more questions about it.

We attend the Zion Lutheran Church on Braun and 1604. Many parents take their children in with them but there are large windows that you can sit behind also and hear and see everything. The pastors also do a children's lesson on sundays where the children get to sit up front with the pastor and participate. It is a wonderful church. And if interested their is also sunday school.

Hi A.,
Not sure what faith you follow but my family & I attend St. Gregory the Great on Dewhurst (Catholic). In the Crossroads Mall area (410 & I10)

Our children's mass is at 10am on Sunday mornings. Everyoen brings their kids of all ages.
-For the older kids right after the mass begins the children leave for children's church in the hall with our group of volunteers.
-The volunteers are adults & teens from our church youth group.
-For those not old enough to go to children's church (4+) those kiddos stay with their parents.
-I've seen parents bring coloring books, cereal, knick knacks, etc. to keep the kids occupied during the mass.

If your child is really crying a lot or just can;t sit still for that long...you can sit in the bride/cry room.
-It has a huge window where you can see & hear the entire mass.
-This room is also good because all the little ones really just wonder around in there while the parents participate (in the same room)in the mass.
-When my youngest was smaller we used the cry room several times.
-She loved the company of the other little ones.
-I was able to keep track of her & participate in the mass at the same time without dieing of embarassment.

We would love for you to visit our church. If you like we can meet & go together (____@____.com). My girls & I came to St. Gregory about 8 years ago & absolutely love it! I'm a CCD teacher & Lector. My oldest daughter is in the youth group & assists with Vacation Bible school. All three of my girls have been or are currently altar servers.

We're all involved also in our CYO program (all sports) and have developed a great community there as well.

All that said...they say you need to shop for a church like you shop for everything else. Churches are not one size fits all. Visit a few for more than just one Sunday service & make an educated decision.

God Bless,
R.
