I am looking for a reasonable priced & great Preschool for my 4 1/2 yr old son. He is a late bloomer Born in Oct, none of the school Districts around our area will accept him beacuse of his age & being born in late Oct. We have had our Son tested and he passes everything that he has been teseted on. They also have brought to our attention that our Son really is excelling & is really smart for his age. They say our Son needs to start a good Preschool Soon.
I live in the area of Peoria Ave & 51St Ave, I would be willing to drive the distance for his schooling. We can't afford a lot of funds but, if it turns out to be a really super great school, We would be able to stretch the funds.
Any help would be greatfully appreciated...
Thanks...

I have the perfrect solution for you. Work of Heart Learning Center is at 7717 W. Thunderbird. My youngest just finished there and she is so ready for kidergarten, both mentally and academically. They are the best, most wonderfully caring ladies that you could every have teaching your children. My biggest regret is that I don't have more children to send there. We had our oldest at Joy, and it was okay. We started our youngest at Joy and pulled her out because she wasn't learning ANYTHING. Joy was costing us $200/month for 2.5hrs 3 times/week and the tuition was going up. WOH was $180/month for 4hrs 3 times/week.
I could go on and on singing their praises. Their phone number is ###-###-####. Check them out, you won't be sorry.

I live in the same neighborhood, at 56th ave south of Peoria and my daughter won't be five till November. I had her tested for early entry into Kindergarten. I know that they are still taking children to be tested as long as they were born before the end of the year. You just call the Peoria Unified School district and request it. I don't know if she will be going yet or not, but if not she has been in the Peoria school district preschool program and so she would stay there. It is a nice program, but every school does not have a preschool, so you have to ask. Hope that helps. R.

My 4 year old daughter goes to Creative Bear Christian Pre school. It is on 35th ave and Peoria within Trinity Bible church. She loves it. She was in the 3 year old class this last school year due to her birthday being in March. She'll be going to pre k class when school starts in the fall. It will be daily from 930am - 11am. THe pre k which will be more focused on getting ready for school runs 200.00/month and then they also have the 4 year old class, that is slightly cheaper and is only 3 days a week, same times. I know when school just ended they said the classes were filling up as they don't allow many kids in each class. Her 3 year old class had 16 kids I think and 2 teachers.

Community Church Of Joy has a great preschool program, and it's pretty comprable in price... no where near what I thought it would be, and it's less then what I was paying in California for my son.

I'll be putting Amber in there next year. :)

My son too will be 5 in October. I was going to home school him, but i found a school that will actually take kids if they turn 5 before Dec 31st. It is called Peoria Horizons and its at 81st ave and just s. of Cactus. They are a regular full day K-6 montessori school. So my son will be in Kindergarten this fall instead of having to wait one more year!
