Looking for a Glider

We had our first baby 4 weeks ago and thought we could get by with my mom's 30+ year old rocker without any cushions. Naive! Anyone have a glider they would like to sell or have experience with a specific glider brand that they would recommend?

There used to be a place called "Rocker World" on Gratiot and 16 mile. I know you could find cushions there. Good Luck

I would head to Babies R Us or your local furnature store to sit and test out the gliders. When I was pregnant I LOVED going to BRU and just sitting down and gliding away, so much inf fact that I spent $400.00 on a super comfy one!!

when I was looking for baby equipment... I didnt care too much about most things... but I wanted a comfy glider - as that was one piece of equipment that I would spend a lot of time in..

I suggest getting a wide glider.. your teeny tiny baby now will be 30 inches long by 1 year and hanging over the sides of your glider..

make sure the glider has padded arm rests. or you get sore elbows.

I got the reclining glider so I could catch a snooze on bad nights..

It is a shermag and was about 500 at babies r us..

it is well worth it - we plan on keeping it forever it is a nice piece of furniture..

check on craigslist.org for used gliders.

Hi S.,

We have a very nice glider that we purchased from The Baby's Room seven years ago. I know that sounds like a long time ago and you're probably wondering what condition it is in, but I can assure you that it is in mint condition. It was expensive, but well worth it for the quality. It is completely padded (including the arm rests) and has a matching padded ottomon. The fabric on it is a light olive/mint green, with a suble print. Let me know if you are interested. We live in Livonia.

Try Burlington Coat Factory. I bought mine for $150, price included the ottoman. Very comfortable. Shermag brand.

Hi S.-

I know this is a little late. But I have one you can have if you like. I bought the glider ottoman set from walmart for around $100. But never used it much and then stored it in the basement. The ottoman is a little broken (my boys jumped on it and cracked the board. You can't tell until you put something on it) but it's easily fixable with a little reinforcment. It's kind of a walnut wood color with a dark blue cusion - which could always be recovered. LMK if you'd like it :) Oh - I'm in center Line (warren area) not sure where you're at.

Check out Craigslist.org I see glider/rockers on there from time to time. I've bought from people on there before, no problems.
