Looking for a Club/Group for Me!

Hello Mamas,

Please Help! I moved to Illinois almost 6 years ago, from my big family in another state, to be here with my wonderful husband. Although I've been here for a couple of years now, I still don't know many people. In addition, we've been blessed with 2 beautiful little girls, who now keep me quite busy all day, everyday. They are great to be with...how they're growing and learning is amazing! However, I need some "me" time. Therefore, I am looking for any type of club/group that I can get involved with i.e. moms' club, cooking club, book club, wife's group, women's group or sister's group. I am also open to other types of clubs/groups.

Can anyone help me? I need to get out...if only once a month. If you know of any type of club/group that represents having a good time by meeting others, learning from one another, and just having fun, please provide me with the information. I appreciate it. Thanking you in advance. :)

What can I do next?

Hello D., my name is T.. Have you looked up MOMSclub.org?
It sounds like something that you might like. It has all that you are looking for. i just started one in my area, and unfortunatly Park Forest isn't one of the towns i was given. But you could check and see if one is in your area. If not, start one!!!! Think of how many women could benefit, yourself included!

Hi D.,
I'm in NW Indiana but in our area many churches have MOPS (Moms of Pre-Schoolers) programs. The kids are in a room all together with care-givers and the moms have lecturers (my favorite was a massage therapist who taught us how to use tennis balls to massage our back and how to clear our sinuses) or they do crafts. Each group is a little different but you meet new moms plus get a little break. It's great ME time.

The library in our area has children's programs so that they are being read to while I am reading my own book and also some adult programs where the kids aren't there at all.

It's good to hear that you are enjoying those little ones. They grow so fast. Mine are 21, 22 & 23 now and I wouldn't trade all those moments for all the world!

Blessings,
K.

Dear D.,

I feel like you were describing me as I read your request. I also have had a difficult time finding me time. I have made friends from work (I work part-time as a school social worker) but because I have a long commute they are far away. Where do you live. I live in Orland Park. If you live near by I would be interested in starting such a group. I'd love to hear from you!

L. (I also am the mother of two little girls, four and 20 months!)
