Looking for a Class

A friend of mine and I are looking for a great place to take some sort of exercise class this summer. Both of us have been working together for the past few months on loosing weight, but we would like to take a class or two this summer to change things up (plus it is just another excuse to get together!). Since we both have two children that are ages 6 and under, it would be great if the location offered childcare. Thanks in advance for anything you can recommend!

What can I do next?

Almost every gym offers childcare and they have tons of different classes you can take. I personally use Premier Ladies Fitness and there are several around. Another great gym is Neo Limits. Also if you are not looking to join somewhere then think about the new Studio Zumba in Vandalia near the airport. The only thing about that is I am not sure if they have daycare and the classes are expensive that way. It is much cheaper to actually pay for a gym membership and take as many classes as you want bc I think the cost of 10 classes at the studio is $50.

Often your local civic center or recreation center offer affordable classes but I don't know about providing child care.

I am too! I am looking for a Wednesday late afternoon (about 5:30pm) class, Pilates or something. If that's what you have in mind and find something, let me know!!!

hi :)
certain gyms will allow you to purchse classes only for a lesser rate. most also offer childcare -- at least during 'peak' hours. (morning & early evening).
where are you located? that would make a big difference.
in kettering, the rec center has a gym, as well as classes. i haven't been there in ages, but used to take aerobics for only a few dollars.
the ymca's of the area usually want you to join, but i think you might be able to do classes only. the nice thing about the ymca is you don't have to have a contract (but you do have to pay a joiners fee). also, they will consider your income when deciding your monthly fees.
one of the gyms i go to is called 'better bodies', but it's all the way in fairborn (i have no idea where you live). better bodies will let you purchase classes only & they have them in the morning 6 days a week, and in the evening 5 days a week. they offer free childcare too. i actually take a zumba class there & the instructor was trained by the owners of the studio that was mentioned in an earlier post on this thread.
i myself had a terrible experience with premier lady fitness, but that's just me. a lot of people really like it there. plus there's no men!! :)

Try your local YMCA! They charge based on income and offer 1 1/2 hours of free childcare per day! I love it. They will even have a trainer show you how to do the excersises you need. Good luck!
