I am looking for a nice Christian church to try out. Since moving here in May I have only seen a few Chritian ones. I was raised in a United Methodist Church and my husband Catholic, so I think a Christian one would make us both feel good. I would like one that is not to laid back (huge with tv screens) but not strict (snobby :). I had a lot of bad experiences with church as a kid, but really want my girls to have christian religion experiences (postitive ones). Anyone know of any? We are in Lexington so that would be best but I would be willing to drive somewhere close. thanks in advance.

My family and I attend Christian Life Assembly. It is located right off of 20 at exit 63 (Bush River Rd) It is an Assembly of God church. We also live in Lexington and have only been here a little over a year and we love the church. I was raised in an Assembly of God church and am so happy we found the church. The services are at 9am and 11am on Sundays, the nursery staff are wonderful, and they are very family based. Hopefully you will come and check it out

My husband and I attend The Harvest on 378. We've been going for about 6 weeks now, and really enjoy it. I also come from a Catholic background. You can find out more about the church at http://www.the-harvest.org

M., We attend Mt Horeb United Methodist on Old Cherokee. It is a large church (approximately 1200 members) with tv screens (new) but it has a small church feel. There are tons of sunday school classes and small groups to choose from. The childrens programs are what drew us to the church 5 years ago and they are out of this world. My children are 12 and 15, and the youth programs are terrific also. Here is a link if you want to check it out. www.mthorebumc.com.

In Christ,

M.,
I moved here in July with my husband and three girls, ages 5,7, &9. I was told about a church on Bush River Rd called Christian Life Columbia. We tried it about six weeks ago and have been attending ever since! I love it, although my husband is still skeptical! He takes a while to adjust to anything new! It is a good blend of laid back and traditional. If you are interested, please let me know and I can answer any questions you may have if I can. They also have a website. It is www.christianlifecolumbia.com Feel free to email me anytime at ____@____.com

The church we attend is awesome! You come as you are, and some people prefer to dress up and others (like us) like to dress down. It's a pretty laid back place and the people are like family. It's a good mix of people and the congregation isn't huge, but not small either. You can see more about it here:
http://www.lswc.com - Life Springs Worship Center
It's near Lexington, right off Hwy. 6 and Platt Springs Rd. where they are building the new Wal-Mart.

We also have a excellent Nursery and children's church staff! We love it, so maybe you will too :)

M.,
I see that you got a lot of responses and options. My husband grew up Baptist and I grew up in a country predominantly Catholic. We just moved here in June of 2006. I have a 6 yr old and a 2 yr old and we just love the congregation it’s become our family. I’m very much FOR women’s rights and the church has the oldest organization for women and the Youth programs are just amazing as well as primary for children 3-12 and nursery for 18-mo.-3yr. we usually start with Sacrament meeting all families together and then the second hour we go to Sunday school- and the kids have wonderful lessons and teachers . I have lived in many places and countries and this really is a world wide church it’s nice to have consistency no matter where you go. We are a very Christian Church the name is : The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Being part of the congregation has also really helped me learn my way around and as mom’s with young ones at home we sometimes get together to play.
There is a congregation that meets in Lexington if that is more convenient:
2224 Augusta Hwy
LEXINGTON , SC 29072
###-###-#### (Office)
You’re always welcome to attend with us on Broad River.
I have attached two links the first will give you the information above and you can learn more about the church and our believes.

This second link I’ve attached for you to explore and maybe it can answer some questions as to what you’re looking for:

If you have any questions please feel free to email me and if you want to get together I would love to meet you.
