Hi Moms -

I am looking for some ideas of a place to host a 1st Birthday party. I want to have it early October so the weather may be questionable. I will probably invite about 25 adults and 10 children. I would like to find a place in the Oak Lawn/Palos areas. Thanks in advance for the ideas!

There is an inflatable jump around place that hosts birthday parties and it's located in Orland Park. I believe it's called Pump it Up! You can have a party of 20 or 25 kids and the accompanying adults get in free. Party packages can run close to $300 so if money is an issue, this may not be the place. That amount does cover the hour and a half time slot, a hostess, a party room, maybe more, I'm not sure. Look it up online for more details. Hope this is a help.

Hi I am not sure what you are looking for in a location but, i had my daughters first bday party at cork and kerry in beverly. it is a bar/banquet area. i know a bar for a baby's first bday... but hear me out it was great. they have two great private rooms so you can choose depending on the size of your party. you can bring in the food or they can do food for you. the back room is great as it opens up to a beautiful garden with additional seating and tons of trees. there is no charge for the room! here is their website corkandkerrychicago.com

A little bit further away in Orland Park there's the Loebe Center where they have a mini indoor playground that's a good size for 1 year olds. Right down the hall they rent rooms where you can have the adults and food and any other entertainment. We brought in an Elmo impersonator, called "Almoe". It worked out pretty well. You bring in your own food and drinks and there is a little kitchen area adjacent to the rented room.

I had my daughter's 2nd birthday at Aurelios Pizzeria in Oakbrook - there are several locations and a few in the south burbs. They had a private area and we had a clown come and do some tricks & paint faces. It's reasonably priced for Pizza's, Pop, Drinks. Here's their website to see if there's one near you. Good Luck.
