I was wondering if any of you know of any public pools in the Overland Park/Olathe area that you can get a pass to go to as much as you want? I'm pregnant & am thinking it is going to be a hot summer for me!

What can I do next?

Gardner has a brand new pool that was revamped and is awesome! They have a floatable river, walk across, slids and the best part for your near two year old is a huge water activity center in the middle of the younger child area. It's $5.

Shawnee Mission Park also has the beach that is really neat.

Have fun!

Hi,
It's $95 for a family membership and that gets you into any of the Johnson County pools, or you can do the daily fee at each pool but the $95 is the best deal. Here's info on registering for membership http://www.opkansas.org/_Res/Parks_and_Recreation/Program...
Happy staying cool!!!

Hi J.,

First of all congratulations!!!

All the public pools have about the same policies, you can buy the family pool pass for the whole season for about $90 to $100 and go wheneever you want.

I am in Lenexa now so we go to Ad Astra, I like that one because it is not crowded but I used to love one in Oveland Park that is in 101st and (1 block East of Quivira) Blue Jacket I think.

Hope you find the one you like,

Overland Park has 6 pools and you can purchase a pass that will allow you to go to as many as you would like as often as you would like. Since you are an OP resident the price would be less than non-resident in Olathe.(Although depending on where you live it might be more convenient to go to Olathe)

You can go to either of the current community centers to get a pass....One is off 119th street (Behind the fire Station)I think it is Lowell
The other is at Lamar and 87 (I think that is correct)

You can find the information on-line at the city website under parks and rec. Just google Overland Park KS to get to the city site. (YOu can buy your pass on-line too..Send a picture to them VIA email and they will send you your cards...Your little guy will need a card too. It generally only takes a day for them to do the card after you send them a picture. Or if you go in you get your card on the spot)

Two of the OP pools are open this week 4-8. THey all open for regular hours from Noon -8 on Sat. (A few of the pools are closed in the early evening for swim lessons. And a couple of baby pools are open in the am during swim lessons.)

My two favorite pools for young kids are Marty (at Conser and 74th street --behind the fire station on 75th) and Blue JAcket (which is at Bond and 101st street)

All the pools have season passes. Most have a higher cost for non-city residents. We will be rotating through the pools so I don't think we are getting a season pass anywhere. Merriam is $5, Lee's Summit is only $1 (same with KCK), Mission is $7 for adults, Olathe has a parent & tot time in teh AM on certain days that is only $3 otherwise it is $5.50 afternoon only. Overland Park is $4 for most of hte pools but 2 of them cost $5.

You can get all the information you want by simply going to the city you are interested in's webpage adn the parks & rec section. I havent' checked into Shawnee, KS or Lenexa yet.

So hopefully this will help you decide what you want to do. My kids get bored with one pool which is one of the reasons we are going different places, the other has to do with the fact that we are rarely in the same place each day.

Oh, I am a resident of OP, so the prices I listed are resident of OP and non-resident of the rest.
