After being ripped off by Storehouse, who still owes me $2300, after they filed for bankruptcy after I paid for a furniture order, I am still trying to find a good furniture store to purchase living room furniture..for a small row home...actually I am looking for a hotel liquidator in the Philadelphia area other than the one in Tacony that does not seem to have much selection

I used to work in a hotel and we sold most of the furniture on craig's list. Have you tried that?

My husband works at Mealey's Furniture. They have reasonable prices and great quality. I like everything we've gotten from there. They also have a warehouse sale on the last Friday of each month. Email me if you want more details.

Have you tried "The Dump" in Oaks? It's a closeout store. You never know what they might have, and you have to provide your own transportation. But is worth a visit.

I know you posted this quite a few days ago but I've been waiting for a family member to get back to me with this info for you. There is a place in Delaware. It is called American Furiniture Rental. 490 W. Basin Rd in New Castle DE. The number is ###-###-####. Hope this is useful to you.

I am so sorry to hear you were ripped off.
You would be surprised at the high quality and low cost of furniture you can find on both Craigs List and Ebay. Also, the Dump (there is one in NJ, on the Blackhorse Pike, which is 20 mins from Philly) has an array of great furniture. They are only open Fri-Sun, and go Fri for the best selectin. Best of luck.

Hi T.,
Raymour & Flanigan has an outlet store on MacDade Blvd, right off the Blue Route. Excellent prices. My sister tried the Dump and she said it wasn't that great, but I've never been there myself. I like Craig's List too. I don't like Ebay since it's not free and they have too many advertisements. I just feel better about Craig's List.

Good luck. Sorry about your getting ripped off.

J.

I LOVED storehouse - it is a shame that you lost money went under. Another store that I liked was Abode - on South Street now defunct also, I think... You could try Ethnics they can be pricey but they have unique real wood furniture - For comfy sofa & chairs -- I agree that the McDade Raymore & Flannigan outlet is probably your best bet - I got a wonderful unique leather sofa there for a good price last year. If you do find a store with the same taste as storehouse - please let me know!

T., Mealey's has a furniture outlet that is only open the last weekend of the month. Basically friday, sat and sunday you can pick it up. I have gotten a few pieces there. They are located on Morrisville. If you go to Mealeysfurniture.com you can get directions there. Alot of the pieces are discontinued items etc. Good luck
