Little White Legging Shorts

My daughter, who is 6, loves to wear dresses and skirts. She is at an age now where they don't usually come with the shorts built in anymore. But she still needs that b/c she sometimes forgets she's in a dress and I don't want her flashing her class or anyone!

I've been looking for some white legging-type shorts and have come up empty. She has a couple pair of regular white shorts, but they are bulky under the dresses and you can seem them. Anyone know where I can find such a thing?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

WOW! Thanks for all the responses. I guess I wasn't looking hard enough b/c they seem to be everywhere. I'll look harder at the stores you recommended.

Go to a dance supply store, or look online for "dance" or "jazz" shorts. They are perfect to wear under skirts and dresses :)

I bought biker shorts for my daughter at Red Balloon (in Bucktown....but they have a website) last year. I also saw them on Old Navy's website recently...online only.

Find your local Capezio retailer... they make "jazz shorts" (formerly known as bike shorts) that should work! They are spandex and short so they won't bulk or show.

They are pretty reasonable (under $10 a pair). My SIL just bought a bunch for my niece because spring (and dresses) are just around the corner... so is outdoor recess!

Check out Hanna Andersson. I know they have many colors of these type of legging shorts, not sure about white though.

I found some last year at Wal Mart. They are Danskin brand and were about $5.

They need to be a Lycra/Spandex blend, like a bike short. The fabric is slicker and won't bind her clothing. It works so much better.

We buy the V-front short from Body Wrappers, we sell them in our store. We have lime, hot pink, dark purple, red, black, navy, even some graffiti and animal prints. She just has to match what she's wearing right????LOL.

These are longer but still that same fabric blend.

I think if you think about the effect you want when she is wearing dresses you'll see the benefit of the slick material of the Lyrca/Spandex mix no matter what length you choose.

I see you have a bunch of responses already, but Old Navy and Gap usually have them too.

My sister finds her daughters leggings at Walmart - and I think that they are also at Justice - but that store can be pricey.

What about footless tights? They have them in tons of colors at Target, and they are cheap.
I use them for under dresses, and even under denim shorts because the mornings are still too chilly for bare legs, and afternoons are hot for long pants.

I've gotten my daughter cute little white bike shorts for the same ____@____.com were very inexpensive, and have a cute little rhinestone button on each side at the hem. Good luck! (I also bought navy ones for under her school uniforms)

The Children's Place capri leggings. If the capri length is too long you could buy a smaller size so that they will be more short-like. That's what I did for my 7 year old.

I have 2 girls (ages 4 & 6) who also love to wear dresses with the bike shorts underneath. We have them in many colors. I usually find them at Children's Place, Hanna Anderssen, and Gymboree. A can't say that I've seen white before, but I haven't looked recently so they may have them.

Not sure where you are buying the skirts, but several mom buys for my grand do have the shorts already built in! She's generally at JCPenney or Kohl's for little one's stuff - sometimes Macy's or Dillards.

i was J. going to ask this because my aughter hates bulky shorts under dresses. Loved the advice and will be going to walmart and the Childrens place outlet soon. OH I J. thought about cutting the long leggings that she wore in thr winter too. That is if your daughter will outgrow them before fall. I know my daughter will.
