Little Boy Undies (Sizes)

My 4 1/2 yr old's size 4/5T underpants are getting pretty tight on his waist and legs. Do they make undies for "huskier" boys, or do I just have to go up to a 6 or a proper fit?

They are Hanes (Toy Story), but we have also tried Fruit of the Loom and have the same issues.

What can I do next?

Nope next size up is a 6-8. I would purchase one package and see if they fit him. You don't want them to tight or they will rub causing more issues. If the 6-8 are too big you may have to try a different style. You can do the tidy whities, boxer brief or boxers. At our house all my boys (hubby included) wear boxer briefs during the day and boxers at night.

Just had to do that yesterday, and they go from the 4/5 size straight to a 6. No true 5. We got a pack of the size 6 yesterday, and they fit fine in the waist, just a little baggy in the leg openings. I'd rather him be baggy than have a ring around the waist or legs from too tight underwear! Not sure if they make husky - maybe check JC Penney. They tend to carry slims, husky clothes for kids. Good luck!

hanes and fruit of the looms run very small and seem to shrink a lot.

gymbore undies are more expensive but they are a full size bigger.

My son is 4 and his size 4 undies are smallish. He doesnt complain about them.

You could try the boxer briefs. They don't dig in anywhere, and the elastic at the waist is wide. We use Hanes.

you could check at other stores like Carters. my aunt gave my daughter some 2/3's when she was first potty trained, and they were too big. she is now wearing a package of 4's from walmart and these 2/3's from carters. so, maybe they run like this for boys too? probably more expensive though...but worth a try if the 6 is too big.
