My 3 year old finally did it, he split his forehead wide open. After sitting in the ER til 3 in the morning the Dr. decided to give him liquid stitches, or basically a super glue like substance. My question is its all over his forehead and in his eyebrows. This happened Wed. night so will it eventually disolve or do I need to scrub it. Obviously I dont want to scrub it where the injury is becasue I dont want it to open back up, but will that part eventually fade too. Has anyone else every had this liquid stitches and how long till it goes away?

When my son was 2, he had a similar injory and they used Dermabond for it also. They said it would take a week to fall off, but after 2 weeks because I wanted to give it plenty of time to heal, I gradually started to peel it off a tiny bit each day. His was on his eyebrow, so I think the hair is what made it stick longer. Take care!

You can call the ER where he was treated and they will advise you. Sorry about that little head. My grown son must have been in ER for stitches umpteen times before he grew up, and it was always someplace on his head or face.

Hi, I had felt flat on my face in an elevator and because of my eyeglasses; it cut between the eye and my eyebrow. Got to ER and my choices was: the stitches or the glue. I had to pick the glue. The glue kept the skin intact and got healed fast; there is a scar and its not noticeable. Just leave the glue on until the skin get healed and the glue will come off.

Hi there! I hear that I have 3 boys so I've been there E.R. so much that for a while they would just ask which boy is it today. Well my oldest is in 1st grade and I have a set of twins. I'm in the tri-valley if you ever want to get together at a park or McDonald's let me know :). P.S. just leave it alone
