Has anyone tried the Lilly Padz brand of breast pads? They are clear, silicone things that are supposed to stop leaks and be reusable. I am expecting my third baby soon, and wanted to try these. I thought I would check here for feedback first. Let me know what you think of these, please.

What can I do next?

I use the Lilly Padz breast pads and they are great for me! When I got married my son was only 3 1/2 months old and I still experienced a lot of leakage, and the Lilly Padz were the only breast pads that I could wear with my wedding dress that would not slip out! I still use them and I think they're great for stopping leaks. If you do usually experience a lot of leakage you should have a rag or towel handy for when you remove them because your milk will spill out of the pad. I also like how they are reusable even after you wash them several times. I like them because you don't have to worry about the pads moving out of place; Lilly Padz stick to your skin. I hope this helps!!

i haven't used them, but a good friend of mine SWEARS by them. she is a "leaker" and was doing her medical rotations during breastfeeding and she said these were they only pads that looked professional and really stopped leaks.

I used them with my second child and loved them!! They woked great, no leakage, and are thin enough that you can't tell that you are wearing them. I only had one pair and used them for quit some time. They are easy to clean and very durable!! I would highly recommend them!!!

I have tried them, and they work well...when you leak, the milk pools in the silicone, so you have to be careful when you do peel them off because that will spill out.

I got thrush and had to stop nursing soon after I started using them. I don't think that I got thrush because of the Lily Padz, so I hope to try them again with the next baby.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE (did I say I love them?) this product.

Yes, they're non-absorbant and I've had many a morning or 4 hour stretch in the beginning of my nursing (my babe's 5 mos now) where I'd leak out the side b/c my let downs were so bad. However, I can go now about 8 or 9 hours without leaking, mainly because my body's regulated itself.

I do have a little bit of a foul smell sometimes if I didn't dry my nipples off after the feeding. A small washcloth does the trick to help that. And, I've never had a thrush issue.

Another thing I really do love about these is that once your done nursing, you can wear them to hide nipple show when you want to go braless. No more little round band-aids!

I have gone braless with these, and unless the shirt/dress you're wearing has a lot of good support, I've had a few issues of them not adhering as well as they should. They are NOT 'sticky', nor are they meant to be.

They do adhere, though, but only after a while in a good supportive bra. I've heard that some people have luck going braless at night with these, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a very small cup size.

Swimming in them is great, too, along with working out (wash them off after working out) - again, with a good supportive swim suit or sports bra.

Don't expect miracles. This is a great product, but it still has a few flaws, but invest the 20 bucks. Mine have been going strong for 6 months now and I don't see it's end in sight.

I couldn't live without them. Period.

No, I've never heard of them. When I was nursing my other children my only option other than the usual breast pads was to cut a thin maxi and use it. They were actually quite helpful :).

I used the lily padz and thought that they were wonderful. I didn't wear them all the time, but they are nice to use when you want to wear a shirt and don't want the bulky nursing pads to show. They are super easy to use and clean. I highly recommend them. Hope this helps. Good luck with your new little one.

I haven't tried the lilly pads, but I liked the Johnson and Johnson brand disposable pads. they were really absorbant and were contured to fit my breast...they also had like a fake nipple on them so when I had them on in public I didn't look nippleless. They were also the most economical...more per box for less $.

I purchased these during my last pregnancy because I heard they were the hot new must have for every nursing mother, (I had my daughter 4 months ago).

From my own experiences, (I used Hydra-Gels the first week and Lily Padz for only two weeks after that - but) I didn't like mine. Every time I removed a pad to nurse, it smelled of sour milk (because of its air-tight feature) which I'm sure wasn't appetizing to my baby. I would have to clean myself with a mild cleanser and wet cloth before every feeding, (maybe this would pass once your feedings were well regulated and leakage is at its minimum).

Otherwise, all the benefits you've probably heard are true. They are seamless and extremely comfortable. Clean up is easy and they never lost their "sticking" quality, (even after the frequent cleanings, LOL). For me, however, the negative out-weighed the benefits.

Hope this helps and good luck to you and your baby on the way!
