Hi moms! I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant with my second child. As with my first, I'm having leaky breasts again.
Anyone have any tips for how to stop this...or control it?? Very aggravating and very messy. I've thought about pumping, but I'm afraid that will only increase the problem. I remember with my last pregnancy, I was never without a bra. Was hoping to at least be able to sleep without one this time, but so far...no luck.
Appreciate any help!

What can I do next?

Don't pump, it will only cause you to produce more milk and leak more. It may also cause you to have some contractions. I think the best solution is just using breast pads. You can buy reusable ones online that you can wash and reuse. Good luck

I haven't had this problem while still pregnant, but there's a simple trick you can use while nursing to keep them from leaking - maybe it will work when you're still pregnant too?

When you're nursing, you can usually feel when you "let down" (I have no idea if you can feel this when preg). When you feel it, simply cross your arms across your breasts and put some gentle pressure on your nipples. This stops the leaking. Works like a charm! Of course, if you can't feel it, this won't work since you'll be spending your whole day with your arms across your chest :P

The solution is pretty simple, wear breastpads. I ended up having to wear them the last 10 weeks of my pregnancy as well.

Pumping would probably just make you sore and tender. I would use nursing pads.

Those "Soothies" worked for me. I never found them at Babies R Us, but Walgreens carries them. They're like little gel pads that absorb the liquid, and you can keep them in the frige for that oh so wonderful cooling feeling. They were much more comfortable then the cloth pads, and no itchiness. You might try an herbal remedy to stop the leakiness, an anti-galactagauge, with your Dr's permission.
