Has any one used Latisse, especially those with blond lashes? I've been considering trying it, but wanted to hear some actual user feedback first, since it's not cheap. Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the great feedback! I of course went to the manufacturer's website before posting my question here, and am well aware of the potential (and seemingly rare) side effects. I was somewhat concerned about my blue eyes turning brown, but I think that fear is mostly unwarranted. I will ask my dermatologist about this product when I go for my annual skin cancer check. I'll post again if I do try it and let you all know about my results.

Here's the information from the website of the manufacturer:

I'd call your optometrist or whichever physician you're thinking of asking a prescription from and ask the questions you have, risks, etc. I've not known anyone who has used it. Had my eyelashes not grown back in well after chemo, I'd likely be considering it, too.

You may also want to check with your insurance to see how they cover it - you can look it up on the online "formulary" or "preferred drug list" or ask your pharmacist to run a "dummy" script to see how much you'll have to pay out of your own pocket through your plan.

Good luck.

There are now several eyelash serums out there. Our feedback from our customer is that it works! We've also had success with revitalash and rapid lash. With the latisse one of our girls actually had to cut her eyelashes because they grew so long. One word though. You have to use if forever. your lashes fallout every 6 weeks on a continuous cycle

My GF has used it and has light lashes and blue eyes. Her lashes are lush now. This is the deal, your lashes will darken , they also warn you if you have light eyes they could get a brown spot in them that is not reversable. They say that for their own liability protection, because parts of the solution is from glucoma medicine and if you really had that kind of high dosage, which is not n Latisse, you could have darkened eyes. It takes weeks to see a difference but you will see it. Only drawback, once you stop using it as it is expensive your lashes go back to their original state. Good luck.

I've used it. I have light brown lashes so if you want to use it just to get your lashes darker I'm not sure how well that works (I still used mascara). I use a thickening mascara so I'm not sure how well it would work for thickening results either. However, it works wonders on the length! The directions say to use it 2x / day but I only used it once at night. Also, there are warnings that it can turn light eyes dark in color, but I have blue eyes and it didn't effect that at all. I loved it! Oh, and I ran out about 3 months or so ago and my lashes are still long from it. I would think you could get a way with it 2x / year to keep your results.

A cosmetologist brought it to my attention and she listed lots of potential side effects. I just remember that damage to eyes, color of eyes, and discoloration above the eye lashes were in there. Be sure to check this all out. I wonder how long it has been out on the market in case there are other long term effects that aren't well documented yet.

Yes, it works, and once your lashes have grown, after 6-8 weeks or so, you can go to two or three times a week to save money.

Also, you want to use a different applicator. Try to find a cheap, similar product with a thin eyeliner type brush. The applicators that come with Latisse are very thick and soak up way too much of the product.

Then, you put one drop in the cap of the Latisse bottle, and dip the brush in that.

Arbonne has a lash enhancer that is safe and doesn't have side effects since all of Arbonne's products are made with Natural Herbs and Botanical . My MIL has really light colored practically non existing eye lashes well I should say had and she started using the lash enhancer they are growing thicker and getting darker. Private message me for more information.

My lashed are so long that they brush my glasses, but it took about 6 weeks to see any results, using it once a day at night. I have blue eyes and have had no discoloration. That only happened when the drops were applied directly into the eye for the glaucoma patients. Once you stop using it, they drop out very quickly, maybe a week. My eyes are slightly itchy but really I had that before, too, so who knows. I am planning on using this until I croak! One bottle lasted me more than 8 weeks, although it says it should last 4! Those must be really big drops. I am on maintenance now of every other day and they aren't quite as thick, but just as long.
I had tried one of the over the counter bottles at Costco - nothing.
Insurance won't pay for it but you might get a tiny discount. Humana paid $15 of it, but BCBS didn't pay anything, so I bought a Walgreen's discount card for $20 or so and will get $20 off my next ones.
