i would say your really early on, probably just a week or two. The doctor's offices tend to use generic tests that will only tell if you are closer to a month pregnant. First response will tell you as early as a week. The blood test is the way to go. When I had two positive tests my doctor wouldn't even do another test on me because she said there was NO WAY you would ever get one false positive, let alone two. Take care of your body. At this point, it may or may not be a viable pregnancy, so you may get your period and it will be over. Have your doc test your hormone levels. Lots of women are pregnant several times in their life and never know it, because it doesn't stick and you just have your period like normal. So don't get too excited yet, but there is a strong possibility it could be.

False positives are very rare. The doctor's should take a blood sample because their urine tests may not be as sensitive as the FIrst Response tests. I would bet you're pregnant... if it's what you were hoping for, then congrats! :)

the light lines can either be telling you that it's early or that the pregnancy may not be viable since it measures hormone levels in your blood. Give it another week & i'll bet that you'll know one way or the other.

Take another test and bring it in to the doctor...if it is positive again...they will give you another test!

Well you can get a blood test done so see if you are pregnant. You should take care of your body though until you find out just in case you are. If you don't get it next month go back to the Dr.

I once experienced something called a "blighted ovum". The exact same story you tell happened to me with the doctor performing a more specialised urine test and concluding I wasn't pregnant. She ended up taking a blood test which showed faint levels of pregnancy hormone which didn't match what they should have been at my supposed stage of pregnancy. They took another blood test which proved the levels had decreased. Essentially what had happened was conception had taken place but for some unknown reason cell multiplication stopped.
I never had trouble falling pregnant again and have three beautiful boys so if this has happened to you try not to be disheartened. Better for Mother Nature to have discovered a problem at this early stage than later on. All the best.

Hello M.,

If you have not experienced any bleeding and still have the faint positive line on a test you take I would definitely think you are pregnant and would have a blood test done to confirm the HcG levels.
