I second the Dekalb Farmer's Market on getting fresh, good quality food at decent prices. At Kroger or Publix, a bunch of cilantro can cost $2 and at the DFM, it costs 50 cents. I usually spend 2/3 less at the DFM than at big supermarkets. It also has great deals on organic/natural and gourmet food items and has a massive selection of meats, cheeses, and fresh fish. Of course, if you want brand named junk food and nongrocery items, then you go to the big supermarket. The DFM will save you a ton of money. The only con is that the bread is made with organic and natural ingredients with no preservatives so you have to eat it right away before it goes moldy.

I don't live in Atlanta, but I do know that Wal-mart is the best place to grocery shop. Its way cheaper than Publix or Kroger. They always have great deals. Plus you can get other things as well....its a one stop shop! I love it!!

I shop at Kroger or Walmart. And i clip coupons and save like $40 everytime i shop. I try to stick to the list even though i do seem to still get extra items. But usually if it isn't on sale or i don't have coupon for it then i just don't buy it.

I tend to shop around for each stores specialty to get low prices. I love the Dekalb Farmers Market fruits and fish but sometimes I don't feel like the drive. I go to Aldi's for cheap frozens, staples and cereals. Not alot of name brand items but good stuff at low prices. Ingles has good prices on meats (everything else is high. I know there is a Trader Joe's near Northlake that a lot of people love if your looking for organic varieties, but I have not been there yet.

Hi there. I personally love the Dekalb Farmers Market. It can be a little bit of a trek depending on what part of town you live in, but if you plan well and buy what you need for a few weeks it is well worth it. I can walk out of there with 8 bags of food and have spent $40. I could walk out of Publix with 8 bags of food and have spent $200!!!
Good luck.
