My daughter was diagnosed with a labial adhesion today, and prescribed an estrogen cream, and I was wondering if anyone else has ever had a problem with this, or with their child experiencing it? Thanks!

My friends daughter had this condition diagnosed at 6. at that point it had become a serious problem the best advice she could give is to ask questions and understand the risks and ask about other options so you can make a well informed decision.hormones are tricky. her daughter had side effects that included symptoms of puberty development. She made inquires to her Gynocologist because the pediatrician did not seem to have all the answers she was looking for.

Dear K.: My daughter was similarly diagnosed when she just turned two. I used the cream, and within a week, the problem was solved. The cream is insanely expensive and was not covered by my insurance. I say all this to say that i have the cream still (just from a half a year ago), and i hardly used any of it. It hasn't expired yet. If you'd like it, write me back. B.

My oldest daughter had that problem last year when she was 5. We used the cream for about 2 weeks and the adhesion went away. We had no side effects and it has not returned.

My daughter was diagnosed with the same kind of thing when she was a couple of months old. I had to apply the cream a couple of times a day for about week. And then everything was fine. I wouldnt worry about it too much. Hope everything works out.

My daughter had it when she was around 1. We used the estrogen cream for a few days and she's been fine ever since.

WOW, you're the first person to ever mention this. My daughter was diagnosed at her 2 month check up. We tried vasoline and that didn't work. So at her 6 mo check up I was perscribed the estrogen cream. After putting a tiny bit on ther two time a day for 4 days it is open and looks normal. Try it now before she gets older. My friend in her 30ies had this as a child a never knew. She was unable to deliver her babies vaginally because she couldn't stretch. Good luck

Hello - my infant daughter was diagnosed with the same condition. We used the estrogen cream - I wasn't sure if it was safe but my doc assured it was the right treatment... anyway, all was open and clear in about a week. I would suggest using as little as possible and hope for a quick outcome so you can throw the tube away.

Good luck.

This is such a weird thing, isn't it? I'd never heard about it until my daughter developed the problem. It's only serious if the adhesion goes over the urethral opening. We waited and when that threatened to happen, we got the cream. We used it until she got better and then we stopped. She had a couple more problems with it through the years but finally it resolved itself. I think we used it for a week at a time maybe three times total. My main problem with the cream was that her breasts would get super sore and start to swell. That can freak any mom out especially if their child is only one year old! So, it's a balancing act and you'll want to keep asking your doctor questions as these things resolve. Best wishes to you,

M.

My 2 year old daughter had the same thing but when she was an infant (2 or 3 months) Anyway, we felt awful about it but the doctor assured us it is actually fairly common in little girls. We used an estrogen creme as well (applied a little each day with a Q-tip) and it worked with no side effects. She has not had any problems since. Good luck.

Hello,

I took my daughter for her check up at 1 yr. old- she's now almost two- and she was diagnosed with labial adhesion as well. The doctor prescribed the estrogen cream, too, and sure enough, after two weeks, no more adhesion. I hadn't heard of labial adhesions at all but apparently it is fairly common in little girls. I'm just glad that since her treatment, my daughter hasn't had any further problem and it's almost a year later. Good luck!

My daughter (who is now 8) had labial adhesions when she was younger. We used the cream and it worked great without any irritation. Her doctor suggested putting a small amount of vasaline on her lips to prevent further adhesions but she still got adhesions a few more times but hasn't had any for a few years.

I was on a 3 way call just this last week with a young mother of a 7 year old ......evidence of too much hormone in her body...the doctor that I shared the call with was very supporting and had some ideas for this mom. Can you tell me
more about libial adhesion? My concern is introducing hormone in her body at such a young age. I would love to talk..I work with Wellness Industry and I beleive that I could offer you some support and advice if you choose.
