I thought that I would have to install new carpet. I was never able to clean my carpet until I tried a prespot product. It is unusual for a prespot product to be able to clean carpet but it can.

ChemDry told me they have a special process to get out red stains. I haven't tried it yet because it hasn't been a priority and it's kind of expensive. the charge is based on how big the stains are.

I just bought a carpet cleaner from Target called "kids n pets instant all purpose" cleaner.. I haven't found anything it hasnt taken out yet... even red wine... It is only about $4 a bottle, and the bottle goes a long way. It is safe to use around kids and pets.... Good Luck!

Get a white cotton t-shirt and wet it but don't leave it dripping. Place it over the red stain and either steam or iron over the shirt. Do not iron the carpet as it will burn.
The red dye will lift into the cotton t-shirt but it takes a while depending on how large the stain is so you have to have patience. You will have to wet the shirt several times as the iron will dry it. My daughter spilled a red icee in the back of my new car and this worked for me.
Good Luck!

J.-give this a try...Lysol all purpose cleaner 4 in 1. It's yellow and you find it near Mr clean. My 2 daughters decided to color my carpet green for me because it is my favorite color. They poured a full bottle of green food coloring on the floor and when that was not enough, they poured the blue and the yellow on the floor to try and make more green. when I looked on the internet to find ways to fix the carpet, it said to replace or dye the carpet. That could not happen because my living room walls are red and if I had green carpet it would look like Christmas year round. lol. I tried everything under my sink on the stains. Lysol was the last choice and to my surprize, it worked!. I now keep a spray bottle handy and use it everytime i clean my carpet. Hope this helps.

I am sure you have tried these, but OxyClean made into a paste may work. If the carpet is colored you may want to spot clean an inconspicuous area to be sure it does not remove too much of the color. I have found oxyclean (and baby oxyclean) to take out just about every stain. Good luck.

Take a damp white towel and place your iron on low/med setting and place the iron on the towel. It will lift the stain to the white towel. (When the towel turns pink/red, get another clean white towel.) It takes a while, but this was the only thing that I found to work. But next time, do this first before setting the stain deeper using stain removers. :o)

I hope this works for you. It did work for me!!

i dont know that they would come out we dyed some playsilks going on 4+ years ago with kool aid and they are still vibrant as ever.

just another thing i use to reaffirm my case to why artificial colors are bad (some neuro toxic even like red 40) and why we don't purchase foods with them in our home.

I hope you find something and if you do, let us all know! I have huge red Kool-aid stains on my carpet and when it first happened (grandkids), I tried the Oxyclean, so don't waste your money on that one; tried dry chemical cleaners, and that didn't work, so save your bucks on that stuff; and then tried something I saw on QVC that PROMISED to take out ANY stains, but that didn't work either. Professionals told me it will never come out because it's red. So if you discover something that works short of ripping out the carpet and replacing it, please post it! Sorry to bring such bad news, but reality is that red stains the worst.

It's made by Woolite and it hasa oxyclean in it. Ithink it's in a red bottle but the only place I've found it is Kroger. I'ts in the carpet cleaning section. Ii did a great job on red wine! I've used it on koolaid and it worked great! I've got 2 boys-4&8 and a 15 month old girl. It's like American Express, I don't leave kroger w/o it!

Your best bet is a professional cleaner. If you have already applied a chemical to it, it will probably not come out with their stuff. When I moved out of a rental with a red stain on the carpet, the company charged me to have someone dye the carpet spot to hide the stain. I am not sure what company would offer this service, but I would call a carpet cleaner in your area and ask them what to do the next time this occurs. I think cold water is the best thing and then have them come and clean it for you. Good luck!

I don't know but I think that's the thing about Kool-Aid: it stains! Especially once it's dried. I really don't think there's going to be a way to get it out. Sorry to tell you that...

I dont know if you want to spend the $$$ but we used Stanley steamer when they had a special going on and it took every stain that we had out from kool aid to I dont know what. I have no idea how long those stains were there b/c they were here (hidden under a rug) when we moved in. Good luck!!!!
