Most cats don't go into heat untill 9 months old (sometimes later) As it is so hard to tell with some cats most vets recommend spaying at 4-5 months old. Call your vet ASAP because it could take a 2-3 weeks to get an appointment thats convenient for you. She will need two appointments. first for a physical and vaccinations, then the day of the operation.

Good luck and thanks for being a reaponsible pet owner and helping to controll pet populations.

Not sure, but info on spaying that might be helpful

You can purchase a low-cost certificate for spaying. You must go to a participating vet in your area and shots have to be up to date. Call different participating vets from list. Some want you to have all kinds of blood work done first. I have used these certificates many times on our different pets.

Just an FYI a lot of the posts are incorrect, cats can go into heat any time after 4 or 5 months and they go in and out of heat repeatedly until they are bred. I agree with the other posters to get her spayed right away.

Another option for low cost spay neuter in the area can be found at

secondchancefundforanimalwelfare.org, look for "quick fix clinic" or call the Spay Mass Hotline 1-800-495-spay.

good luck

They can spay or neuter pets as early as 6 weeks now. Just call your local vet's office.

Our cat started going into heat around the 6 month mark. You should make an appointment now.

You can have her spayed anytime now. They go into heat around 4-6 months. The younger she is the easier the surgery is with less complications. You don't want to wait until she is in heat because then there will be more bleeding. They recover really quickly from the surgery.

Congrats on your new kitten!
