Do any moms out there use the Kirkland brand Formula- Like/don't Like? I've compared it to Similac Advanced and as near as I can tell they are very similar- You just can't beat the price difference!

I have been using it with my daughter since she was 3 months and she did not have a problem with it at all either. I could not pass up the price either. I talked to my doctor about it and she said that it was fine as well. Good luck with it!

I've been using it and don't seem to have any problems with it. And yes, the price difference is crazy.

I love it!! We have three kids, 4, 2.5 and 7 months and all three have been on the Kirkland brand. The first baby, I asked my doctor and he said that there was nothing wrong with it - it's just a matter of the label. I couldn't afford to buy the name brand stuff - so it's been great for our family! Good luck!!

I used it and had no problems. I used another name brand...can't remember which but was sold at Costco as well (for much more $$$)...for about 3 or 4 months...just in case and then gradually switched over to the Kirkland brand and my child had no problems with it.

I used it and loved it. I had started off with the similac and switched and had no problems. In fact it is made with better oils than one of the big names. I can't remember if it is enfimel or similac that had something like Palm oil or something... anyway it not a healthy oil. I was a total fan, so much cheaper

Hi M.,

I used it all the time for my daughter. The price is much better than the brand name, and the labels are similar. In fact, you can usually find better deals on Ebay for muliple cans.

Working in the CPG industry I happen to know that Kirkland Brands (as are MOST private label items from any retailer) are manufactured by "brand name" companies. The packaging and (sometimes) the distribution methods are what keeps the costs down. You and your baby will be fine. Not sure about the taste but I'm guessing it's about the same. That being said my ped said one way to look at it is baby will likely be drinking whole milk at 12 months, either pay for the name brand for two more months or buy the private label brand for only two more months - whatever logic makes sense to you.

I started out using Enfamil. Then when he started daycare at 7 months we switched to Kirkland. Our daycare provider would provide all the formula if we used Kirkland. So we talked to our dr she said no problem. We transitioned him with no problems. I will use it again with my 2nd.

Yep, I used it for my first and now use it for my second. My ped said no worries, as long as there's iron in it go for it! Costco has great produts!

HI M.,
My first son had a sensitive stomach and I had to play the formula game till I finally took him in to his dr since he wasn't sleeping at night at 2 months. We found out that he was allergic to soy and had to put him on Alimentum Simulac ready made because the powder formula upset his tummy really bad. Talk about night and day. My second baby (11mos old right nonw) has very bad acid reflux since 4 months old. I had him also on Alimentum since birth. The only way my dr knew for sure it was a reflux was because he was on a formula that can be ruled out due to other issues. So unless your daughter has no digestive issues, allergies etc I say try it. She is old enough to have had any issues the past 9 months. I wish I could go on cheaper formula right now since Alimentum is over$8 a qt and my son goes through a case in 5 days. The way I look at it, if it makes him happy and we are sleeping at night its worth it to me for 12 months. My dr once told me, you will know right away if a formula works or dosen't right away. Just watch their behavior and if their sleeping pattern changes/fusses a lot or not. That was how I knew with my first son his formula was not agreeing with him. Every baby is different so try it out. If you can save some money all the better.

Good Luck

I love the Kirkland brand. I see no difference in it compared to enfamil or similac. And you can not beat the price.

Kirkland formula AND Kirkland diapers are the best! We used the formula and loved it. No problems at all. We told our pediatrician that we were using it, and she said that was absolutely fine. There was also a test done on diapers, major brands and Kirkland. The Kirkland diapers actually tested as the best! Hope this helps.

We used the Kirkland brand exclusively with DS #1, and for a time with #2 until we switched to Target brand - we really liked it! It was very comparable to the name brand formulas, and our son (and budget) seemed to like it better than most! GL :-)

Hi M.,

My son was mostly breastfed, but did get some formula, especially as he got older. He had acid reflux and a pretty sensitive tummy. Once he was able to switch from soy to dairy, we used the Kirkland formula, and he had no problems at all! (we use Kirkland diapers, too!)

I used it with both my kids with no problems. My Dr. said formula is so regulated that there are only slight differences- but all have to meet a minimum requirement.

We used Kirkland for each of my little girls. They did fine. We started off with Enfamil with my older daughter and then switched. Yes, you can't beat the price and we also felt the nutrients were very comparable to the name brands.

Hello, I used the Kirkland when my little girl was on formula. She had been on Enfamil, but Kirkland was much cheaper and we had no problems transitioning.

Good luck.

I also had no problems. My little girl is almost three and always got a big thumbs up at the doctors for every checkup. She was born 8 weeks premature and stayed in the hospital for a while. We used the special preemie formula until she was the correct weight to switch but as soon as the doctor said we could switch we moved to Kirkland with no issue.

I use the Kirkland brand. It is incredible how much less it costs than Similac, and it is very similar. I asked my baby's pediatrician if it was good, and he said it was perfectly fine. I say if you can save the money, why not? As long as my baby likes it and I'm not forcing him to drink it I think its to our advantage to use it.
