Hi everyone!

I'm looking at purchasing one of these game sets in the near future and would love to hear your recommendations on which one to get (especially if you have personal experience with one or more of them!).

***I should mention the system is for me and my husband only... the girls are only 17 months and 4 months old :) ****

Xbox or Wii.

We have both and the Playstation.
Wii and Xbox is by far, the most versatile.... for the whole family... and you can even exercise with it.

We have the Xbox 360.

all the best,
Susan

Depends on what you want to do with it. Do you and hubby want to play or exercise? If you want to exercise, there are a fair amount of Wii games that you can exercise with, such as My Fitness Coach, Wii Fit Plus (have to buy the balance board for that one), The Biggest Loser, Gold's Gym, Jillian Michaels fitness, etc. If you want to just play games, you might want to research game titles and look for reviews on game sites, Amazon, etc., to see if they have the kind of games you like.

We only have a Wii, and for us it's just fine because our kids are little and I can do basic exercise stuff with the game disks we have. We haven't used Netflix on our Wii yet, but you must have broadband to use it.

I've heard tons of good stuff about the Kinect, and it's something I would like to get in the future as the kids get older and we want to do more advanced exercise stuff.

Happy hunting, and remember, it may be for you now, but in a couple of years, your little ones are going to be very interested in using it too!!! Our daughter is 22-months old and has tried to participate w/us using the Wii (our 5-year old uses the Wii all the time),so it won't be long!!!

Go xbox 360 Kinect.
I LOVE our 360 it has games for all ages and gameing levels where the PS3 is more for the hard core gamer and the Wii is more for the kids ,few adult games.
we have the 360 and the Wii .
Both the 360 and the Wii have Netflix access.

The kinect is more accurate on detecting your movements.

Wii is great, but the graphics are a little childish........... (and upsetting at times... they were too lazy to give legs to the other baseball players in the Wii baseball game... or you don't have arms in the boxing game, etc...) But- there are some great interactive games and there's been a few years to get all the 'kinks' out.

My Dad and husband love their Xboxes...

I'm not sure about the other two. Good luck! You can probably rent each console from Blockbuster... or video game stores. (Bandit video is a great place in Williamstown on the Blackhorse Pike)

We have the Wii and bought the PS3 for our kids for Christmas. The only problem I have with the Wii is that you DO NOT have to get up to do many of the 'physical' games. You can bowl, play tennis, ping pong by just flicking your wrist while sitting on the couch. I can't seem to do it, but all of the kids that play it can! We were told that you can't do that w/ the PS3 - I guess we'll find out Christmas day :)

I do agree w/ ILuvmylife's post, Wii is more for the younger kids, my 12 year old, soon to be 13 this month, has moved on from the Wii and is asking for a PS3 or XBox. My 9 year old still loves the Wii.

On another note, the PS3 is also a blue ray player (that's what sold it for us) and will allow access Netlfix (Wii can get Netflix too).

We have the WII and my son loves it, daughter not so much. I like it all right, but my major beef with it is that you don't have to get up to play it. I finally got fed up with it altogether after watching my husband and son play another WII game sitting in their chairs - totally defeats the purpose of having a WII!

I want the Xbox & Kinect - dh had a chance to try it recently at a tech show and he raved about it, and he's hard to impress. I like that you can add a player mid-game without having to go all the way back out to the main menu, that's really frustrating with WII - with Kinect a new player walks in front of the scanner and it automatically added. I like that it's total body movement, not just the remote, and there is no danger of accidentally throwing the remote into your flat-screen tv!! I'm saving to try and surprise dh and kids with it for Christmas.

My hubby says we should wait till the Kinect gets all the bugs worked out and the first set of 'patches or upgrades' happens before we spend the $ on it...but all our boys are very interested in trying it out and hopes that it is totally wicked!

I vote for the XBOX 360+Kinect!! XBOX/ Microsoft is more adult...Wii/Nintendo is way more younger kids.

We have the Wii...it's alright (not my favorite) but not the PS3 but it appears to be Playstation's version of a Wii as well as a BlueRay player.

so I guess I can't really help, sorry! You do know that the Kinect goes with a XBOX 360, so you need to buy both if you have nothing? Just checking? You don't say how old your kids are...if their teenagers I am sure you know all this stuff :)

We LOVE the Wii. It gets the people playing it up and moving! The games are SO much fun (even the Wii Sports it comes with), and while you are still playing a video game, your body is moving too. We really aren't "into" video games, but I have to say that our whole family loves the Wii!

I think it depends how old your kids are. I am not familiar with the Kinect but we have the Playstation 3 and Wii. The Wii is better for younger children. If your kids are teens, they would probably like the PS3.
