My 10 y.o. wants drama or acting classes in Plano or Allen (we live at Legacy & Custer). The place she used to take them went out of business (can't remember the name, but I think it was at Independence & 15th). Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

Hi M.,

I am not sure this will fit your need completely, but my daughter goes to classes at Plano Children's Theater at Custer and 15th. This session, she is enrolled for a Camp Rock production that hits the stage in December. She goes one hour a week and it costs $180 for September-mid December.

They also offer singing and acting classes for individuals.

It's a little bit of a drive for you, but I know many people who drive from there and even further to take classes at Hartt and Soul. www.harttandsoul.com Cathryn is an excellent teacher, a former actress, and Julliard graduate. You'd be amazed how many people out there claim to teach drama and have zero real experience themselves. Be sure to check up on whomever you use. You really should at least give Cathryn a call.

What about her school, do they offer anything like that? I my kids are in middle school, Bowman, and they both are in theater. My son got involved after he went to his sister's practice. The teacher welcomed him in and he's loving it.

Good luck, try the school they might have some suggestions too.
