the Fort Worth zoo is really really nice. In Grapevine there is Lego Land and Sea Life Aquarium. Dallas just opened the new Perot museum. Curious though, are you coming up for spring break? if so, all of the above will be ridiculously crowded. Joe T's is a really good mexican restuarant close to the stock yards if you want to walk around the stockyards. thats something different to do.

I never got a chance to do it before I left the area, but check out Hydrous Wake Park in Allen, TX. There is also a skate park in the same area. My friends did the Wake Park with their 8 year old and she loved it. My kids were toddlers and infants when we lived there so I don't know too much about what to do with older kids, but the Wake Park always looked like so much fun.

Definitely the Dallas Zoo and the Ft. Worth Zoo; in Grapevine there is a Legoland Discovery Center and a Sea Life Aquarium in the Grapevine Mills Mall; in Arlington you have Six Flags Over Texas; in Ft. Worth there is also the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, which has an Omni Theater, planetarium, and IMAX theater - as well as history stuff and dinosaurs and other museum-y things (Grandmother used to take us every summer).

The Mustang statues in Las Colinas are cool. A tour of the Cowboys stadium. Dealey Plaza (where JFK was shot).
