So, besides not cooking is there any tips or tricks to cleaning a glass top stove and actually keeping it CLEAN? Im driving myself nuts with this simple task...I get my black glass top stove nice and sparkly clean and bam its dirty again :( Right now Im using cerambrite cleaner and polish but Im up for any suggestions. Thanks!
Added:I loved my white glass top compared to the black...ugh!!!!
ADDED2: i use the scrapper, my problem is keeping it clean between polishing, like if i just wipe it, then it tends to get streaky, or looks like i burned grease on it, ya know? which drives ME NUTS! so i end up polishing/scrubbing my stove at least every other day:( day in the life of a clean freak i guess...sigh

What can I do next?

My grandma hated her stove for the same reason... She hated seeing streaks.

She cut a piece of colorful fabric that matched the decor of her kitchen to fit the top of her stove, and coated it with some kind of flame retardant. Now she wipes her stove clean, then covers it with her cloth.

BAM! Problem solved for less than $5. :)

409 Kitchen cleaner is what I use when I have grease splatters or small spills (not the major baked on messes). Everything else I have tried leaves cloudy streaks.
Mine is black! :(

I use a polish cleaner for glass stove tops, a scraper and a scotch brite pad when I need to do a major cleaning.

Do you use a scraper? Kind of like a box cutter but with a flat blade? That helps with stuck on grease or food particles. But alas, it does get dirty.
I use the weiman glass cook top cleaner with the scotch brand pads after scraping stuff up.

That is precisely why hubby and I refused to even CONSIDER getting a glass stove top when we bought a new stove/oven in November........ I knew I would never be able to keep it clean.......

I use windex for those little spots etc between major cleanings. Works like a charm, I spray and wipe it to clean then spray again to polish. Sometimes I will then rub it with a clean cotton towel for a nice sparkle.

Mine is white and I think it is easier to keep sparkling white than keeping the black sparkling black.

I use the Ceramabryte and little yellow scrubbies that are sold right beside it at Home Depot. I also use Vinegar on it to wipe down, etc.

ETA: I scrub it clean after each use. I never give the ick time to get cooked on. Mine is spotless at each use,,, extra sweat equity? Yes... Worth it? YES!

Good luck.

So true, M.! I have a black one now and it is so hard to clean!

Scotch brand has a special pad for glass top stoves. I have used it before and while it works, you need to put in a TON of elbow grease to get it to work!

I am going to try BKF! Hope you get more responses- I'd like to try other cleaners, too.

This is the stuff right here, Easy Off Fume Free Trigger. A;so, use it to clean the bottoms of all your pots and pans, which will keep the cooktop even cleaner. Enjoy. ♥

We just moved and the house has a white glass stove top....HATE IT! But unless you don't cook it will get dirty. I use Bar Keepers Friend and it works wonders. It seems to get dirty every single time I cook and I don't know why, I mean, I don't boil over anything so I can't figure it out. But at least BKF keeps it clean and its easy. Good luck!
