We are researching alarm companies right now and I'd love to hear what companies you guys use. The only ones I really know of are ADT and Brinks. I have met with one of those companies and loved them, however I think their pricing is really high. The other company has already annoyed me quite a bit and they haven't even come to my house for their appointment yet - however they are quite a bit less expensive.
Are there other options out there? If so have you used them and what is your experience? Or if there aren't other options, do you use ADT or Brinks and do you like it?

we have Guardian thru Central and are very pleased. Trust me their response time in very fast. We have a 10 year old who is very sneaky in the morning and forgets it is on!
I don't know how the alarm companies here in Kansas are since we haven't gotten an alarm system yet, but I can tell you that we had ADT in another state and we were not pleased with their service AT ALL. We were constantly having problems with the system -- false alarms, loose wires etc. and they weren't very helpful. We ended up eventually switching to a local service carrier to install our system so you might want to look at that. (A national alarm service actually ran the system, but anytime we had a problem all we had to do was call our local guy to help us.)
We've used Sterling Security at two houses now because the products and service are excellent. Monitoring is $20 per month. Phone is ###-###-#### and the contact is Mark Price. I think he's the owner, but in any event, we've dealt with him for 8 years now and highly recommend him.
We have been very happy with Central Security. Initially we were with ADT but switched because Central Security was able to provide service through our high speed phone vs. land line. Price is very comparable but service has been better with Central Security, in our opinion. Good luck!
DO NOT USE ICON SECURITY!!! They are snake oil merchants! Our system hasn't worked since June 17 and they are still charging us. It was 4 weeks before the tech showed up to the house and the system is still not working. We are currently dealing with the BBB to break the contact. They are terrible, but my neighbors use ADT and are very happy.
We use Brinks and are really happy with it. It's $35/mo.
I use Protect America, and like them a lot better than Brinks that I used to have. You can find them on line. There equipment is easier to use, and I have not had a false alrm in the 2 years I have had them. Unlike many times with Brinks.
We use Advanced Detection Services. My in-laws have used them for 20 years after their home was burglarized. They were much better priced than the others and great personal service. We used ADT in the past, and pay at least $15 less a month. Hope this helps!

We use Bill Ireland and are very happy. He also has many commmercial/retail clients as well. I like it because they are a local company and have been around years.

I live in Missouri but would not recommend ADT their service is terrible and the installer left a mess wherever he worked. Took over one month to get certificate to have police come when alarm is activated. I would try Brinks, I am changing to another service.

We use Atronic Alarms. I really like them. They are a little more expensive on the actual alarm system but it has a lot more capabilities to them. They are usually cheaper though on the monthly monitoring fee.
