Take him to a vet.
They should bealbe to help you with both.
What kind of registration? if you're talking AKC you can't register a stray with the AKC.

All you have to do is call a vet in your area. They'll be able to help you with all your questions. If you need a vet recommendation, call your local animal shelter to see if they have one they work with.

My mother would say 'God Bless you for helping one of His children who can't help her/himself!' I just say I think it's really cool you took in a stray and plan to take good care of it. Hooray for you!!!

Go to a local vet, he/she would do a thorough exam, maybe scan him for a microchip, give him some vaccines (2-3), depending on age deworm him and after he's gotten his rabies vaccine, you can register him

Good luck

How did you get the dog? If you got him from the shelter, ask them for a referral to a vet. Usually shelter dogs are already evaluated, vaccinated and neutered before they are adopted out, but if this wasn't the case for this dog, they may be able to set you up with a vet they contract with. You might even get a discount.

If you found a stray you would like to keep, contact your local shelter/ humane society how you can do this. I believe in our area a found pet must be reported and the owners have 6 months to get him back. After that the pet becomes the property of whoever found him.
Call a few vets for quotes and get your dog checked out and vacc'ed and also scanned for an ID chip. If he doesn't come from a shelter or rescue and was not evaluated for behavioral issues, I would have this done as well - especially if you have small children.

The pup should have a complete physical with a vet. They generally will give all vaccines unless you got him at a shelter that had records of shots. They will then file for a rabies tag. Check with your city to make sure they also don't require a license to own a dog. Next love your dog, enjoy every minute. Area vet offices can usually be found by asking a leashed dog owner at a pet store who they use and if they like them.

Go to your city pound and register him/her... just go to a vet in your area, they will give him/her all the shots and stuff it needs...
