Oye.

I just found out my (ex)stepdad is remarried. He posted photos on facebook and changed his 'status' to married. It's been about 7 months since he and my mom divorced and I suspect he was seeing the (much younger) woman before he and my mom were separated.

*Shakes Head*.

How 'bout you? You ever find out some awkward big news via good ol' facebook?

What can I do next?

Found out my SIL was pregnant. Then a month later found out she had miscarried. Guess my husband doesn't talk to his brother much, huh?

I found out just how most of my family(not parents or brother)but rather aunts, grandmother, sister, and cousins truly feel about me and my family. I lived 2 states away from all of them and we, my family and I that is, have always gone to visit yearly. However, upon finding out the truth of the matter on everyone's viewpoints and true feelings we will no longer be doing such.

Found out that a friend's house was robbed while they were on vacation. You know, the vacation he posted about on fb for a couple months before leaving for 2 weeks. As in "Just bought tickets to be in XXX from X to X" "only 3 months until I'm laying on the beach in XXX" "Heading to the airport in the morning" not to mention all the pictures posted on the plane, eating meals in XXX, all the activities". Wonder how anyone knew he wouldn't be home?

hmmm, wait until your girls are teens! You'll find shockers/strange things regularly!

My strangest thing: I can't keep track of how many divorces I've learned about thru FB. Crazy, man, crazy.

& then there's the New Tattoo pics....showing waaaay more skin than I'd ever want to see on some people! Don't mind the tattoos....just the bare flesh where the "sun don't shine" on most of my friends/family. :) Eeeew.

HMMM strangest. That my ex was expecting a baby only days after stating he wanted to leave her!

That my oldest sister got her tubes untied. ( not a good thing in my opinion)

That my Brother who I swore was gay has a girlfriend that he lives with... (cover up maybe lol still love him though)

That BIL (little one) is struggling while at college :( So we put money in his accout mysteriously

That an old high school crush is now gay.

That a couple from our freshman year (um 9 years ago) is getting married and have stayed together constantly for the whole 9 and dont have kids but want them.

That a schoolmate is making really awesome clothes now. She always was amazingly dressed.

A lot about high school people. My two of my best friends who married at 19 (not to eachother) devorced before 21. Both told me before facebook but I didnt take it seriously.

Gotta love Facebook!

The degree to which people I went to high school with and actually liked a long time ago are now really racist or sexist or homophobic or politically opposite myself or just plain not that bright. I've also been pleasantly surprised by a few people who have turned out super cool and impressive.

I wouldn't say it's strange but amusing to say the least. I found my ex-foster mother/father on there.. for which, when I lived with them, they were VERY mean and now, if you saw their site, in particular the woman's... you'd think she lived as a saint throughout her life..she has all these Godly quotes and all this so-called wisdom as to how to treat others... it's just one big hypocrisy.. I am stunned at some of the things she writes..
she really was a nutcase and to think is still pulling the wool over some peoples' eyes.. it's almost comical... well almost :)

I knew that my 45 year old brother who lived in Slovokia, then Switzerland, was going through a nasty divorce from his wife, plus two boys. I found out via FB that he move home with his mom ( my mom too) just last week and she held a Welcome Home party for him. I am upset that he is repeating his past and leaving his sons for the mom to raise, and I know my dysfunctional mom helped pave the way for his return to SoCalif and to live with her. I hope they enjoy each other's company. I wonder how long it will last.

I seem to discover a lot about someone's TRUE personality on F.B. ......
Which seems crazy to me, but it's true. I have COMPLETELY changed the way I feel about a few people because of things they say, post or rant about!
I have found out about my underge neice's drinking and reckless behavior, new romances, breakups and the dirty details....
While I love getting on there, sometimes I think people don't realize how much damage they do to themselves by the personal information they share, or opinions that are essentially "shoved" down everyone's throats. There have actually been some new friendships I have made and then almost steered clear from because of the things the or their spouses post!!
But all in all, it's fun. But yes, many surprises to be had :)

That my BFF's husband is a Communist. An honest to goodness Communist, loud and proud, whom is now a History teacher at a HS in CA. < Face Palm >

He is the one and only person I have ever blocked on FB....just couldn't take
all his preaching and sharing.

I have had to postpone visits with my BFF b/c I am afraid to get my husband and her husband (who share the same name, funny!) in the same room together. My husband would rip him up one side and down the other...and I have one of 'those' husband's who can win at Jeopardy and knows all about everything...but History and science are his favorites! I know for a fact that her husband would have to bring it up and try to convert us to his way of thinking (I have met him several times and it seems that is all he talks about is politics) and my husband would have to destroy him....and then it would be ugly and we might not be friends anymore :(

I found out when my brother's on-again-off-again girlfriend got engaged to another guy. And I found out when she and that guy broke up.

One of my girlfriends who lives on the other side of the country, who was neither married nor even seriously dating anyone, let everyone know via FB that she had given birth. Judging by the comments, no one had even known she was pregnant.

I learned that one of my girlfriends was divorcing her "amazing, wonderful, supportive" husband that she was always raving about.

The hardest one for me was when a woman I thought was a BEST friend unfriended me and my husband. No warning, no argument, nothing. To this day, I don't know the reason she did it. This came as a shock, and she continued to comment on her husband's FB page (he didn't unfriend us) so I know she's still active on FB, but she blocked my husband, too, so I'm guessing it wasn't an accident. I guess FB is a tool for spreading information of all sorts, including "I don't want to be friends anymore."
