Well there are certain myths about how to guess whether you are going to have a baby boy or girl. I wanted to know what they were since i'm going to be a second time mom soon IA coming may :)
I read somewhere if you see your babys bump up front in the ultrasound and if it isn't high you are more likely to have a baby boy.
Another one was to hold an ice cube in your mouth , if it takes less than 6 secs to melt it is a girl, more means a boy.
It was fun to read all the stuff so got curious on how many more myths there could be :)
HA HA i would agree that if a woman gains weight around the back it's a girl and if mostly around the tummy it's a boy .. I had a girl who is 2 years old now and a boy who is 7 months old.. so the MYTH bout the weight gain won for me :)
Old wives tale, hold a pencil on string over inside of wrist, depending on direction it swings, determine boy or girl, but I forgot which direction was which..
I was told "how I walked" (these people told me I was having a girl---had a boy) that theory is out in my book. Ha!
My grandma would put her gold wedding band on a string and what ever direction it would spin would determine if it was a boy or girl... I also dont remember what direction was what sex.
With my first 4 my nose got wider while pregnant ( thankfully went back to normal after having them!) With #5 my mom said right away that it was a girl because it was the first time my nose didn't widden... she was right, it was my only girl.
I couldnt go by how high the baby was sitting... with #1 he was so high he was right below my breast. #2 was all middle.. straight out. #3 was so low after 6 months I had to lay on my side, I couldn't sit down or he was on my legs and they fell asleep with in minutes. It was fun thou listening to everyone guess ( I didn't know the sex either) then finding out at the end who was right and who was wrong.
Every wives tale, test, chinese chart, heart rate, etc. pointed to me having a girl. I didn't know what I was having until I gave birth so people speculated until the end. As I was in labor my co-workers were having a contest to guess gender, weight and time of birth. Most guessed girl based on how I was carrying (very high into ribs) and I was just 'chubby' all over. I had a boy :)
I always say if you can tell your pregnant from the back - it is a girl.
