Juicer Recommendations and Recipes

I'm going to buy a juicer, but am trying to find out what the best ones are. I'd like a juicer that processes the fruit/veggies so that I can drink most of the product I put in it. I guess what I add to it will make the difference?
Would you please share the one you use and how you like it?
Also, if you have any great recipes for the juicer, I'd love it if you'd share them.
Thank you!

What can I do next?

If I could do it over I would probably have invested in a Vitamix before a juicer but your do get a different consistency doing it that way than a juice.

That being said, I have a Breville and enjoy it. Easy to clean and take apart. Over the weekend I made a juice with beets, oranges, carrots and ginger and it was good. I have to get better about juicing greens- I just can't stomach it. But the juicer will come with some recipes and Cherie Calbom has several books and I have this bookmarked for the upcoming cold and flu season http://rethinksimple.com/health/at-home-flu-shots/

One thing to remember is to eat a protein with or within 20 minutes of drinking your juice so your blood sugar doesn't crash.

I am guessing you just watched "Fat, Sick, and nearly dead"?

I tried a couple juicers after watching that, and tried the fast. Like most people the fast made me sick, but when I tried a similar thing only eating the whole fruits and veggies it was much better. Just FYI.

As for flavors, I tried a lot, and the only ones I could stomach had a lot of fruit or carrot, both of which are supposed to be used very very sparingly in juice due to the high sugar content.

I hope you have better luck then I did!

I have the Omega VRT juicer and love it. It is a slow-motor one which is supposed to keep more of the enzymes in what it juices. Regardless, it does a great job- the pulp comes out practically dry because so much of the produce makes it into the juice. Honestly, I put whatever I have around or whatever is seasonal in. Produce is expensive, so I try to go with what is on sale and available. I think my manual came with lots of recipes, or I also found some great books at the library.

I was not sure what to buy and ended up with a breville as well but it is the juice and blend, the base doubles for both. I love it, but hardly ever use my juicer anymore, produce is so pricey and I just like to eat it instead of juicing, but it is a good option so you can have both. One recommendation is have for clean up is to keep the plastic bags you buy your produce in and put them in the pulp container, then you just pull it out and you have an easy clean up. I have heard people use the pulp for baking.
