I realize that Ms. Bishop is a "midwife", but there are very few posts/views on the midwife page here so I hope it's ok to post a quick question here. I have an appointment with Judith in a couple of weeks and was just wondering if anyone here has seen or delivered with her? Just curious what your experience with her was like.

Thanks!
R.

I saw Judith regularly throughout both my pregnancies, and I really like and respect her. She's very professional, knowledgable and approachable. Also, she's supportive of both natural and medicated births and doesn't pressure you either way. (I did one of each.) Unfortunately, she wasn't on duty when I delivered, but those who were did the job just fine.

Hi R..
Judith is wonderful. She is very down to earth and straight forward. She is flexible to your needs. She understands that you know what is best for your body, and willing to work with whatever you want to do regarding the birth of your child.

When my daughter was born in Boston, I had a really unpleasant experience with the midwife. She was controlling, wouldn't listen to what I wanted, and made me feel guilty for wanting to take painkillers.

Judith is quite the opposite. She does not force opinions, but is very caring, while being an advocate for you as well as trusting your decisions about your body.

Judith delivered my son at UCSF in 2005. I saw her throughout my pregnancy. I occasionally met with other midwives, and everyone was really great.

You should also know that Judith is a very old and dear friend of my family, so I might be biased! I am sure you will really like her. Let me know if you have any other questions! you can email me- josielainek at gmail dot com

Judith was attending me when my daughter was born, she was wonderful in my opinion. I ended up with a c-section because my daughter was in distress and not descending properly, but Judith stayed with us, and actually took all the photos of the birth. She was very kind, and while I didn't end up with a vaginal birth, I felt better about having a c-section knowing that with a midwife there all the possibilities had been exhausted. I hope this helps a little bit! Congrats and good luck.

Judith delivered my daughter in June of 2007. She was fabulous. If you want to know anything more specific, send me a message and I'd be happy to call you.

Judith Bishop is great. Had my daughter last year and pretty much was seen by all the midwives. I love them, very concerned and involved. Care about your choices and that makes you feel good and comfortable.

Congrats on baby #3

Good luck

she doesn't believe big babies can be delivered naturally.
