I have two little girls 5 months and 18 months. I need a job and really would like to find one soon! I need ideas for the area of brenham tx that are away from home, or any suggestions how to work from home! To be honset I would love to work from home but have no idea about it... Like would I work weekends, how many hours a day would I work, If there is anywhere that doesn't need a degree. I am sure you mama's get the idea but if not let me know. I need any ideas that would help thank you!
Ok, I just wanted to have ideas for stay at home moms. I am the kind of person who puts family first and knows I need a job but with college and my two kids and spending time with hubby (if you seen an earlier post you would understand) I don't seem to have enough hours in the day! I wish we could afford daycare, but he does not make very much and even if I got a job it might not be worth it. I am going to school to be a teacher, I love kids! I have applied at so many places in Brenham, but ended in false hope... I tried other towns close enough for comute only again to have false hope... I love to dress up for work and would like to work out of home just to give me a few hours away from the kids (this semester had to take off bc of new baby). I can't wait to be a teacher though...

My mother-in-law works for a company called West at home where she answers customer service calls for companies. She sets her own schedule and works there part-time. Hope it helps!

Check out the forum at workplacelikehome.com for at home job leads.

For ways to make extra cash, check out my website at www.makemoneyonline.tonoftips.net

If you are good at writing check out Associated Content, Brighthub, Textbroker, and wordgigs.

Also check out ticketpullers.com, chacha.com, kgb.com for extra work at home.

Working at home can be very challenging. With small children you will need to try to find something while they are sleeping or you will need to hire someone to watch them.

You can also look into doing in-home childcare. In Texas you would need to get listed with the state if you don't want to go through the process of getting registered. When you are listed you can watch 3 children in addition to your own.

2 things...

Do NOT fall for any direct sales companies. Even ones that are reputable and household names (Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Avon) only have a very small percentage of people who can make a decent income from it, and you have to spend a lot of money in order to make any because you have to buy either inventory, samples, catalogs, order forms, etc or all of the above out of your own pocket.

Working from home at a reputable company is not as easy as it sounds with young children. As another poster mentioned, there are companies in which you can answer customer service calls from home and set your own hours. You have to get a second phone line for your home... But I hope you are not expecting to be able to actually work from home while your kids are at home! I work from home and save a lot of money because I don't have the commute, the waredrobe expense, etc that others have, but I work while my kids are all at school/day care. (My job, however, requires a degree)

Not all MLM Companies are created equal. I own my own small business that is an MLM. 3 years ago I would have been as negative as some of the other people that have written here, but now I know better. If you find the right fit you can absolutely do well! It depends on what you want and what you want to put in time wise, etc... It also depends on your interest and your personality. Mine is in the health and wellness industry. If you would like to talk about it and see if it is something that would interest you I would be glad to talk to you honestly. Feel free to contact me.

Hi A.,
I agree with Patty's post below. Just because some people do not like Direct Sales companies does not mean that they are bad. If you are interested in possibly going the Direct Sales route, you just need to find one that is the right fit for you. With that said, let me tell you about mine.
Do you love candles? I am an independent distributor for Mia Bella Candles (Scent-Sations Inc). Mia Bella is a home-based business that has been around since 2002. While candles are the main focus of Mia Bella, we also have a mineral make-up line and bath & body products. It's a pretty simple business and there are several ways to earn an income - from the traditional home parties to fundraisers to team building. If you would like some more info & scent samples, let me know & I can send you an information packet.

I look forward to hearing from you!

There are few and far between companies that are truly "work from home" and not direct sales, MLM, etc that require you to pay money up front and recruit people to be on your team so you can suck them in the game.

I'm sorry for sounding so blunt and I do not mean in any way to offend anyone but I hate seeing moms truly looking for a job aat home getting solicitations from the direct sales, MLM's which DO involve investments, etc.

I do work from home in a very technical industry. It is a JOB and not easy to balance.

If you have time when hubby can watch the children, a part time position when he can be watchiing children may be good for you. That way, you are not out the expense of childcare, wardrobe, lunches, etc.

Best wishes to you.
