I recently started using a none name brand or the generic brand of the one I normally use. I wasnt trying to save money here, just trying to compare and I def didnt like it.
I normally use Biolage and started using Suave...Not quite the same as they say in the tv commercials.

What can I do next?

We use TRESemme and it gets the job done.

One time my father was visiting and while using the guest bathroom, he commented the guest shampoo smelled funny. While trying to keep a straight face, I asked him if the golden retriever on the bottle was any clue for him. He paused thoughtfully for a minute and said he guessed he wouldn't be having any flea problems for a while.

I use whatever is cheap! (Usually, that's Suave.) I have healthy, easy hair. I don't need anything fancy!

I have a super sensitive scalp with tendancies to psoriasis (plaque flaking/mild "chipping"..so gross). I have never had really healthy hair or a cut that works with this. I can't use products really.

Shampoos and conditioners were another issue. I tried them all. Cheapie cheaps, spendy lotta-dollar ones. Same results. Yucky, burning ishy painful embarassing scalp.

Then I tried Yes to Carrots brand I can get at Target. OMG what an amazing difference! On a daily basis, my scalp is calmer and improved! I still get mild irritation from stress or whatever the h*ll causes this crud. But nothing like what I experienced for so many years.

I won't use anything else. My hair is pretty short right now (the never ending grown a bit and chop cycle with the uncomforable scalp for me, I am afraid...) I love my YES TO CARROTS!!!

I'm big on low to no toxicity for my family's personal products, so I use Hugo Naturals for our shampoos/conditioners. They are rated a 1 (out of 10) on the Environmental Working Group's cosmetics database. It's $10 a bottle for their shampoo for color treated hair. That's a drop in the bucket compared to what I used to pay for Pureology (before I paid attention to toxicity, etc.). I buy it from Drugstore.com, but just noticed that our local Henry's/Sprouts carries it, too.

Apple Cider Vinegar. Sometimes I use a little baking soda too if it's getting too oily.

I've been using the Tea Tree shampoo that's Bed Bath and Beyond's brand. I have nothing against it, but it's no better than anything else I've tried, and I have tried about all the main shampoos in the store. As soon as this bottle is done (it's lasting forever!) I'm going to try the Hair One (sold in Sally's Beauty Supply) that's supposed to be like Wen but cheaper. I want a miracle for my hair, but for that, I think I'd have to hire a stylist to come over each day.

I use Wen Cleansing Conditioner - it's the best I have found for my curly textured hair. I had success using Dove in the past though.

I like the Costco brand moisturizing shampoo & conditioner. It smells nice & works well. It seems to last forever, making it cheaper than some of the cheap store brands.

I use Paul Mitchell Awapuhi. It smells wonderful, but doesn't make my scalp itchy because the fragrance comes from natural ginger.

My fiance uses TRESseme. He likes it and has beautiful, thick hair.

I stick with my name brands. :-)

I use whatevers on sale! The brands range from Tresemme, Pantene, Dove, and Suave....My stylist has always told me to switch off shampoo's which I have been doing and havent had a problem. Suave is one that I really enjoy, they have a huge selection and I have never had a problem with any. I have also used the tea tree shampoo, but was told to use it only once a month if I have build up otherwise it'll dry my hair out.

We use Suave on a regular basis then once a month I use a clearify shampoo that my neighbor gave us. I think its Rusk.

I guess I don't have a problem with Suave... with 7 of us its nice to spend only a dollor or two on it!

I used non-name brand for years. 3 years ago I started using salon quality brands. I get them at JCPenney with sales and a coupon and it's normally the same as getting Herbal Essences or something. Only this last much longer!

I used Biolage Matrix...LOVE it and hate when they don't have my stuff on sale :).

I use Aussie. It comes in a large size with a pump. It's about $5.00 at Target and the nice thing is with the pump, it limits how much I use. So basically I get a lot of shampoo for a low price (the bottle holds more then the average shampoo bottle) and it allows me to use less each time I wash my hair. They also have a conditioner. So I can get the shampoo and conditioner for about $11.00.

Nothing makes my hair do as well as Pantene Volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Not the cheapest -but certainly not as expensive as salon brands. I always loved the way Aveda smelled, but it made my hair look like straw -no matter which one I used.

i don't like suave but that's usually what we buy, I splurged and got the expensive salon suave for $3 and its a little better. I tried a bunch of different ones when i was couponing and pantene was the best. they changed the lable and CVS clearanced out a ton of it and with coupons i ended up paying 50 cnets a bottle, I stocked up and got 6 bottle adn now i'm finally out. I miss it.

I use Costco's Kirkland brand shampoo so I'm not sure what it was before, since I'm sure it's just a re-branded name brand something and I have coconut suave (the stuff they sell for $1 a bottle). I switch up shampoos every other wash between the two different kinds because I find when I use one kind over and over, my hair ends up feeling weighed down and gross after a while. I've been alternating for a couple of years now and I've never had that problem again.
