Hey Ladies,

Yesterday me and the hubby took a walk around the neighborhood. I have a habit looking inside the homes, I have done this since I was little, I always imagine what is going on inside the home (only good thoughts) any hoot I noticed a couple of homes had a televison in the livingroom. We had one growing up but noone that I know has one in the living room now esp due to finished basements and family rooms.

We have a TV in our bedroom & the basement. I hate the TV in our bedroom because the hubby sleeps with the tv on and I never have done this and I swear it has casued the dark circles under my eyes! I would love 1 in our kitchen.

Do you have a TV in your livingroom?

What can I do next?

Like human size TV's.....The Living room has the newest TV....We got it for free. It is the nicest newest thing in our house.

The one in our Bedroom is dying...our room is the grave yard...where it will spend its dying days;p

My kids have a tiny tiny one in their room for movies.

Our house mate has one.....That he hooked up to his computer screen to have a double screen....because he is that cool.

I have to sleep with the tv on too....I wake up the minute it goes off. It has been that way since I was 10.

We have a t.v. in our living room, the girls have one in their room (to watch movies when having friends sleep over ONLY), and one in our room which rarely gets used as well. We only really watch t.v. in our room to catch the news in the morning before the kids get up :)

Our living room is our family room so yes we have a TV there. We also have one in our bedroom that is NEVER on...not sure why it is even there other than it is tucked away in an armoire so out of sight out of mind. Otherwise it could be gone for all we care.

We don't have any regular TV service. That being said, We do use Netflix. We have two TVs. One that is in our bedroom with Netflix and one that is in our playroom that just uses the DVD player. We have only used the TV in the playroom ONCE.

We have a family room, living room, 6 bedrooms, and finished basement... we still just have the two TVs... and thankfully, my four kids are fine with it:) ...and they will never have a TV in their own rooms, it is terrible for their sleep habits, for one, and ALL kids I know that have one, feel they NEED one. Definitely not good!

Our main TV is in the living room. It has the bluray player, sound system & wii hooked up to it. It's the one we watch most. We also have one in our bedroom that we don't watch too much We have one in the basement with a DVD player hooked up to it. My husband works from home a lot and has his office downstairs. So if one or both the kids are home he can pop in a movie for them so he can keep an eye on them. Or since we have a fire place down there we like to watch movies while we have a fire.

NONE. We've always only had one, but recently sold it at a garage sale once I saw how much damage it was doing to our marriage.

The kids don't watch TV, but were allowed to play video games on the weekends. During thr week, after the kids went to bed, we turned on the TV for 2 hours....and sat next to each other without a word and then went to bed.

I spend most of my at home time in my home office (no TV!!!) so I just use mine when I'm falling asleep.

If you can't sleep well with it on, then it needs to go! Plus, numerous studies have shown it's a bad idea for seversl reasons to have a tv in the bedroom. If my husband wants to sleep with tv, he can sleep in the guest room!

We have one in our family room. On our floor plan, the front room in our house is a living room...we don't need a room to simply hold furniture, so that is our office. We have a finished basement with a TV down there as well. It also has a satellite box and that is where we have the Wii. That one is used 90% of the time for Wii...so not TOO often. Hubby will watch TV down there if I'm really mad at him and he needs another bed :). And then we have 4 upstairs. I like the one in my room for watching the news while I'm getting ready - not so much at night. And all 3 kids have one in their rooms as well. They honestly aren't on much, but it's nice having the option.

We have 3. 1 in kitchen, 1 dining room, 1 living room. We don't however have cable, just antenna. We get basic channels in, watch alot of redbox or use them for games. We don't allow anything in anyones bedroom that would pull them away from the living areas of the house such as computers, phones, mini fridges, televisions. The bedrooms are for rest, keeping personal things, clothes changing and books. The rest of the house is for living and keeping current with family and making sure everyone learns respect of living with each other.

Well we live in our living room, lol. No formal rooms here :) We have one in the living room, the kids watch some and hubby and I watch some but we aren't hooked. We have no cable or satelite so we mostly watch streaming on netflix, or movies. We also got a second one so on occassion we watch a movie in our room or stick the kids back there while we watch adult TV in the living room. The one in our room is rarely on. Sometimes I sit on our bed and fold laundry and will watch it but not real often. I know some people who's TV is always on, not good...

I live in an apartment, so there's not a family room....so, yes my tv in here. My mother has a living room and a family room and there is no tv in her living room.

If I had a home I too would prefer to have a living room without a tv and a family room aka rec room for the tv. I guess we like to have 1 room that is peaceful.

I recently rearranged my bedroom so that a TV can't go in there. I don't need it in there and as much as I'd like to deny it, it does keep me up :-)

me: one in our Family Room and that's it (my family room is attached to our kitchen, so I technically kind of have one tv in both rooms)

when I was with my ex husband: Family Room, Bedroom, and a movie room with a huge screen and rear projector

My parents (age 65): family room, kitchen, outside by the grill, in the garage by dad's toolbench, their sitting room upstairs (used to be a bedroom). And they're never used, but they do have a tv in their bedroom and in their guest bedroom too. Only three of those seven tvs are actually hooked up to the cabel chanels. The rest just get whatever broadcast chanels get a good signal.

My in-laws (age 56): one in the family room

We have a TV in the living room, family room and pool table room. We had a little one in the kitchen but since there is no"antenna TV" anymore it just sits there. Having one in the bedroom is NOT good for good sound sleep. Between the light and the noise, you and hubby probably aren't getting the right kind of sleep. I have read things that say even the light from your alarm clock can cause incorrect sleep...I put a book in front of mine and it does make a difference....just that little glow can keep you awake OR wake you up. WIERD isn't it? I think the kitchen is a great place for a TV as long as it's not habit to have it on during family meal time.

We have 3. Our room, her room and the livingroom. We bought a flat screen a year or 2 after we had bought a larger screened regular TV, we felt bad just chucking it. It moved to our room. The one in our Daughter's room is one we got from my Mom when she lived close to us, it's a small thing with a built in DVD player. It's come in handy when I need her out of the living room for any amount of time.

Only 2 in our house..in the common living areas. One in the family room with cable and dvd/VCR and the living room has only DVD/VCR. The living room tv isn't used much except when I work out to videos or if someone wants to watch something other than what is on the family room tv.(like when dad actually gets a moment to sit down and watch some soccer on some random foreign cable station..but that is a rarity...hubby doesn't watch much tv at all)

We are firm believers in a "No tv in bedroom" policy.

Good luck and best wishes!

We do have a TV in our living room. I wanted a big pretty mirror above my fireplace. Guess who won that battle? Yeah, theres a HUGE TV up there. Oh well.
I have to say I LOVE the one in our room. I love snuggling in bed with my husband and watching movies.
I also love having movie nights with the kids in our bed.

No TV in the kids room though. Ever.

We have a TV in our living room and one in our bedroom as well.
I think one day we may need to remove the one in the bedroom because we don't want our kids to have TV's in their rooms (until MAYBE they are in high school), so it will seem kind of hypocritical if we have one in our room.
I would love a little TV in the kitchen as well. That would be awesome.

You must be thinking most people have separate living rooms and family rooms. We have one big room so we have the tv in this room. It is a long room and we put up a big entertainment center more as a room divider and on one side is our grand daughters play area and she has a small tv with built in VCR for movies. It isnt hooked to any cable so it cant get regular tv so,,just movies and its less than 10 feet away from our bigger tv. Then we have one in my sewing room, and one in my husbands office, and one in the bedroom. I like the one in the bedroom even tho I dont watch tv in there often but when we go to bed and he wants to see a movie or whatever, I can still sleep next to him and he doesnt have to get up and go to the other room to see what hes watching. It actually keeps us together more. So, we have 5 tvs in 4 rooms. We are moving to a new house in a few weeks and it has a separate family room and living room. We wont have a tv in the living room. We plan to spend most of the time in the family room next to the kitchen and I will be able to see tv while cooking and doing dishes. We will still have a tv in the sewing room, the office and the master bedroom. I wonder, how many of you have the tv screens in your cars too? It seems funny to me that we all have so many tvs yet so many also say they dont allow the kids to watch much.

One tv, in the livingroom and when we have time to watch tv, which isn't often, we'll watch a DVD of a favorite tv series from the 80's or 90's.
We watch very little live tv anymore.
We've never had cable (doesn't come down our street), and since they went digital, we get fewer stations over the air.
We have Hughesnet for an internet connection and you really can not watch tv through the computer with a satellite connection.
We don't miss the commercials and most of what's on tv these days is mind rot (we only see it if we're on vacation and the motel has cable).

We have one TV in our entire house and it's in our living room. Our house does not have a basement or a separate family room. We gave up the dining room to give the kids a playroom in fact. We had one in our bedroom for a while but never watched it, we just didn't take it out because it was stupid heavy and upstairs. We finally took it out a couple years ago when we got pregnant with our third child and needed the room.
