Ladies, we can all dream, right?!?!? What would you do if you won $476 million ($341 cash option--you'd get about $170 million after taxes). Tell us 5 things you would do!

I would:
1. Donate to charities that have impacted my life: Children's Mercy Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, American Heart Association
2. Donate to my sons' school--they need a new chapel and gym.
3. Buy my in-laws a house on Sanibel Island, FL (they've wanted one for decades!)
4. Give enough to my immediate family so they are all comfortable.
5. Buy a Porsche 911 for myself!

Oh, the possibilities are endless!

What can I do next?

So I didn't win last night!?!

I would:
1. Pay off my mortgage.
2. Donate to my kids' school.
3. Pay for college for my nieces and nephew and set up a nice retirement for my and my husband's parents.
4. Travel all over the world and occasionally buy outrageously overpriced things.
5. Have my husband quit his job, spend the summer in Europe, then come home and figure out what I can do with it all.

1. Pay off my home to make my wife happy.
2. Take my family on a vacation as a family and invite their spouces' parents. (Every year)
3. Give each of my kids' family $40,000. Loan each of my kids about $250,000 at the lowest rate of interest the IRS will allow. (Why a loan? Because Congress passed a gift tax law that takes 55% of the money given over $10,000 per year. But they don't tax a loan. The $40,000 is the result of me giving $10,000 to each spouce and my wife giving $10,000 to each spouce. That way its tax free.)
4. I would put 10 $100 bills in envelopes and carry several around with me. I'd dress poorly and when I saw a family struggling to decide what groceries to buy vrs what to put back, I'd give them one of the sealed envelopes and walk away. (As long as they weren't buying alcohol or cigarettes.) I'd still keep being Santa and when I heard a child tell me that they would like a bed for Christmas because they were sleeping on the floor, or "don't bring me anything Santa. Bring something for my little brother. He didn't get anything last year." I'd have one of my "elves" give them an envelope after they were well away from me. I'd visit the homeless shelters and give envelopes to those that were there because of bad luck, not because of laziness.
5. I'd invest the rest so I could keep doing #4.

Thanks for the nice question. (p.s. My wife and I would probably keep our cars as they work fine, drive fine and are only 9 and 10 years old.)

Good luck to you and yours.

Oh, what I would do!

1. Buy a house and everything that goes with it. All new cars for me and hubby and a few "fun" cars too including my corvette I've wanted forever. I would also buy a camper and atv's, dirt bikes and all the stuff that goes with it.

2. I would give every family member a set dollar amount, like 300k, with the understanding that what they do with it is up to them but if they blow thru it, they are NOT to ask us for anything else.

3. I would build my pastor from my youth his dream church in CA as well as my current pastor who just started our church in Oct. I would donate heavily to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers).

4. We would travel with the kids over every school break and holiday.

5. I would expand our businesses by hiring others to run it and build it up so its established for the kids when they are older.

The rest I would stash away for the kids future. =)

We can dream, can't we?!! :)

I would pay off all bills, including those student loans. Be extremely happy to say bye-bye to those.
Then I would arrange some type of fun stuff for the kids with Starlight Foundation and the Hemophilia Fdtns. And set up some type of fun stuff for the kids at the childrens hospital. And I would offer to pay for camp for those families so they don't have to worry about it.
Then I would buy a house for us since we are stuck in a small place due to this housing market. Oh the idea of being able to stretch out.
Then I would help my family, give my sis an allowance instead of big sum since it would be blown, pay off my mom's mortgage.
Then I would setup a trust for the kids for school and adult life and an allowance for us with a lot of fun money--but not over the top because they do need to know how to work. That would include vacations. Can you imagine actually vacationing during summer break? And not a stay-cation either.

K.:

1. Buy a new car for me. Most likely the Volkswagen Toureg - with all the bells and whistles. I know I should donate first - but I need a new car.

2. I would tear down my FILs home and build him a new one. And give him money so he would FINALLY stop working (he's in his 70s and STILL works FULL TIME!!!)

3. Pay off my parents debt/home/motorhome so they could stop stressing over money. This also means putting my 96 year old grandmother in a Retirement home so that my parents can FINALLY enjoy their retirement.

4. Donate to charities I believe in. This includes organizations to get Obamacare repealed and Obama voted out of office!! :)

5. Set my kids, very close friends and family up. My husband and I would already be set...so why not share it with those who have supported us over the years?

You know, I'm not normally a lottery player, but my boss collected a buck from everyone in the office, so here goes nothing!

In no particular order, I would:
•Give 1 million each to about 10 "immediate" family members. (Then they can clean up their own debt, housing, vehicle, savings situations as they see fit.)
•I would fully fund my son's college fund through Master's and Doctorate.
•I would INVEST a large chunk
•Buy a REALLY NICE oceanfront beach house for vacations (with a pool and a hot tub)
•I would give my house away to a struggling family I know and buy (not build) O. with more land.
•I would buy a new Lincoln MKX for myself and a new Ford crew cab-type truck for my husband (or whatever he wants! I'm feeling generous!)
•I would top Bill Maher's 1 million dollar check to the Obama campaign with my own $2 million dollar check...maybe more...
•I would completely stock a food pantry
•I would sponsor more kids through World Vision
I guess I would save some too! :)
(That's a lot of moolah!)
Oh! O. more thing. Just once, I'd like to walk into Macy's and FORCE myself to buy something that's NOT on sale!

Daydreaming is certainly fun!
When I worked in an office, we'd buy some tickets as a group and would dream of the whole dept walking out - our director said he'd lead the parade out the door!
For right now I'd:
1 Pay off the mortgage.
2 Replace my husbands truck (it's 10 yrs old) with what ever he wants.
3 Fully fund our son's college.
4 As soon as the money was in the bank, my husband and I would be instantly retired.
5 A trip to Disney World would be in order.
Then I'd wait a full year before making any major financial decisions.
We could move anywhere, but we like the school our son goes to, so we'd stay at least till he graduates (5 years).

1. Buy a house. Not some mega huge thing. I would like about 2,000 square feet with four bedrooms and 2 or 3 bathrooms. Big yard. To go along with that I would hire on a housekeeper and a landscape guy. :)
2. Pay off my parents mortgage and buy them a new one story house. Landscaper for them too.
3. Build a house for my IL's in Mexico.
4. Put aside approximately $1,000,000 for my three children's college educations. (it's a lot, I think, but I also want them to be able to pay for their books, houses, bills, and not have to worry about working while they are getting the education)
5. Donate $5,000,000 to Children's Hospital because without them I wouldn't have my first son.
(I need a sixth - sorry! I would give all of my siblings (4) and my husband's siblings (5) money. Don't know how much, but it would be a one time big chunk)

I would go on a mass spending spree with my long time friends. I would take them someplace fun and tell them they could spend whatever they wanted. I might even buy a couple of my friend new homes and fully furnish them.

I think sending my sister and brother a large check would be too good to miss too, I might have to fly in my new plane to watch them get surprised like the Clearing house does....... I would feel so much different about life in general, the outlook is so much more positive if the truth be told.

Never ever ever ever having to stand in Walmart looking at the mac and cheese wishing I could buy Great Value brand and having to buy the cheap generic, never standing in line to pay and finding I don't have enough money, having to put back something really needed just to buy milk and bread. Never having to make 1 lb of HB meat in 3 boxes of HB Helper because I couldn't afford more meat.

Never getting sick and not being able to go to the doc. Never never never, ......if you have enough money to pay your bills and even have a savings account you can't imagine how hard it is for people who are poorer.

This kind of money is made to be given away I think. Keeping enough to live fully and comfortable is the best way. The rest can go to others in the same situation and help ease their sorrow and suffering, that's the best thing I think.
