Sooo.... Today is running pretty smoothly, woke up to a wonderful cup of coffee brewed by my loving husband. Watched cartoons with the kid's... And now.....Time to try and get some work done! I know alot of mom's take saturdays "off" but for me it's like work-work-work! I have some house work that need's to get done, some laundry too, still have to think about what i'm going to make for dinner (any ideas!?) and then I will probably try and take the kid's to the library. So what are your plans for today? Oh, to top it off we are supposed to get some snow which I doubt it! Kid's are praying for some snow so that they can finally wear their snow pants and get out and play! Fingers crossed I guess! Lol... Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

What can I do next?

Kids woke up at 6:30am; can't blame them because they wake up everyday at that time to get ready for school. Woke me and dad up, Set them up with a movie and breakfast. Dad went back to bed - he has been sick the last few days. I go about cleaning up, starting laundry, folding laundry, cleaning living room, kitchen, playroom. Kids get dressed after breakfast and start cleaning playroom too. Plan on going grocery shopping, kids birthday party, friends out later today. Right now I'm taking a break and looking at the internet. Will probably get off soon and read my book until the dryer finishes. <sigh> Kinda wishing my kids wanted to sleep in.

DD has had swim lessons on Saturday mornings since Sept but now she finally graduated to the next level, and the next level class is not available on Saturdays. So this is our first Saturday in a while with nothing scheduled and I am being pretty lazy about it. Playing games with my daughter, letting her watch cartoons on TV, thinking that maybe we will go the library, or go swimming at the pool at the high school, or bake some banana muffins, or even all 3 - when I feel like it. DD also wants me to make her a fort out of pillows and blankets. Yesterday was all about playing in the snow we got, building a snowman and shoveling out, and now the snow is all crusty and frozen, it's windy, so today is not as good a day for playing outside. Tomorrow a friend of mine and I might take both our daughters to Detroit Institute of Arts for the day!

We woke up and picked up our produce from the co-op we're apart of. I have to wash all kinds of veggies and 30 pounds of apples and pears. I'll meal plan for the week, clean the kitchen and fridge. My husband is building our raised bed gardens while my son plays in the kitchen with me. There is a lot to fit into today, actually. I should probably get off mamapedia!!!

It's in the 60's and 70's around here for the foreseeable future. No snow in our parts, thank goodness!! Warm and sunny how I like it :)

My daughter is at her Dad's until tomorrow, so I have the place to myself (well me and the cat, 3 mice, and 3 hermit crabs). I am on-call for work this afternoon, which means I can't leave my house and have to be close to my computer. But mostly, this is the most relaxing day I've had for awhile since I just turned in a major assignment for school (the first chapter of my dissertation) and can take a few days off from that, too. I plan to do my taxes, and later go for a run, and watch a movie. Yay!

We try to make Saturday a family day, but that rarely means relaxing... just means we stay TOGETHER and don't have other people over to the house. Today's been pretty typical accept that SO is out of town on business.

DS and I got up had breakfast, he watched some cartoons then we went to swim lessons and Trader Joes, now we're home doing a cooking project. DS sorted the laundry, so I'll get going on that, and the bathrooms. DS needs his hair done (he has dreadlocks) so we'll probably get going on that this evening with pizza and movie.

Saturdays are family fun days with a little yard work added to the mix now that the weather is getting nicer, but not the same from week to week, though we have started eating breakfast at Ihop every Saturday morning with a family friend that meets us there. Last week we went bowling, played in the arcade, and ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant. Today we ate at Ihop, spent almost the entire day at a Kung Fu tournament, I took our oldest to Olive Garden to lunch while husband took the our youngest to Lowes to purchase a lawn mower and played at the park with him. We put the kids to bed for a late nap and the 2 of us cuddled until I heard my husband snoring. Then I snuck out to get a pedicure and picked up a movie from Blockbuster. Family dinner (I made a quick dirty rice and green beans), family walk with the dog, and now the kids are listening to their bedtime story. We'll watch the movie when the kids go to bed---yay! Great weekend so far. (Tomorrow is church, lunch/nap/Scrabble grudge match, then Jer goes to work 3 hours and I take our oldest to Awanas and our youngest has a "date" with me, then after dinner and a family walk, we put the kids to bed and watch Amazing Race a little later---we DVR it to watch once the kids are in bed).
Next Saturday will include car shopping, and my husband gets a massage...so again, not every Saturday is the same.
Happy weekend to you too!

Ahhhh...Saturdays. To me, they are a lazy, tiring drag. I hate them!!!

During the week, each day is full...we get up, have breakfast, get dressed, and I homeschool so that fills our day until sometime after lunch. Then we run errands, go for a walk, whatever...have dinner, watch a show, read books, bath, and bed. I do most of my chores during the week (laundry, cleaning, etc.) Sunday is equally busy with church, family visits, etc.

But SATURDAY. I don't like it!! I dusted and vacuumed...which took about 10 minutes to do the whole house...and we have been playing video games and/or watching TV and snacking all day. Saturdays just make me feel gross. My husband is delivering my newspapers (which he usually does on Saturdays) and I am sitting here with a bag of Puffcorn even though dinner is only an hour away. Ugh. I feel bloated.

But I will have a wonderful week starting tomorrow!!! :)

Saturdays are home days! :) My husband works on Saturdays, but the boys and I love hanging out at home on Saturdays. Sometimes friends come over, but we don't do anything big on Saturdays.

Today is a beautiful, sunny day, and it's pretty warm out. We're planning to do a bunch of yard work tomorrow with my husband, but today we were going to play outside all day, and maybe do a little work outside, but my 14 year old woke up with fever. :( He had been feeling icky for a few days, and this morning was awful. I took him to the doctor, and he has an upper-respiratory infection. He's susceptible to pneumonia, so I was happy that it's just an upper-resp. infection. He really doesn't feel too bad right now.

So, our revised plans:

14 year old is tucked into the couch, nice and cozy. :)

Music is playing, and I'm in spring cleaning mode. The nice weather inspired me. :) My 7 year old is helping. My husband cleans house every Wednesday, but I'm doing the DEEP cleaning. This house is starting to sparkle. I love it!

It will be especially nice tomorrow when we get the yard done. We have several acres, and it looks so good when everything is mowed. By Monday, this place will look good, and hopefully everyone will be healthy, too.

My mamapedia break is over now. Time to get back to cleaning!

Saturdays off? Well, they are a day off, as in, I only work Mon-Fri. Saturday is hardly a day to relax for me. It's typically a day of trying to get my share of the cleaning and housework done while making sure the 12 year old gets to whatever scout or 4H event he has (usually hubby does this), take the 16 year old out for driving practice or to visit a college campus or to meet friends at Starbucks or cook a nice meal for extra teens in the evening. Since I was on vacation all of this week (school district employee), I'm not actually doing any real cleaning today. I went grocery shopping this morning, picked up some jeans for my son, baked a cake and am now getting ready to get everyone in the car and head over to my sister's for a visit.
Enjoy your day everyone

Up at 8:30 (Saturday rule mom sleeps in, there is no bothering her! Unless there is a soccer game) So I made coffee, poured cereal/milk plopped on the couch. Around 9:30 cleaned (every Saturday is cleaning day around here) I'm not home much in the evenings during the week and well...if I don't do it no one would.

The afternoons are usually for just fun, movies, games...however this afternoon I will be going shopping, work trip coming up (we wear jeans to the office and I've lost 20 lbs since the last trip so no "casual wear" fits)...YAY! Wish me luck in finding something.

Have a great weekend yourself.

Love Saturdays bc DH is home. Even though he sleeps in for an hour, I wake up with DD and she "helps" me with the dishes, even if it's rinsing the same sippy cup for 10 minutes.

DH joins us and I go down to do my core exercises. We reconvene for breakfast and then take turns watching DD to shower.

Then DH takes DD food shopping while I have some down time to do whatever I please. (Usually a quick nap and a run.)

Started with Coffee, made by me, then the Clean Up Game - my son had the living room and I had the kitchen! Then I decided I was getting a new vaccum this weekend - the one left here by the landloard SUCKS so I went to Target and got a new one :). Then my large dog had a grooming apt, the little one went in on Thurs, so I took him in and it's been a pretty relaxing day. Daddy got to sleep in and then take a long hot bath (such a girl!) and then tonight is the fights not sure if I am going to go or stay home with the kiddo but it's a mostly lazy ish day!

DH lets me sleep in until 8 or 9. My older daughter usually has horseback riding therapy (hippotherapy) for an hour, and we all go watch as a family, then we drive about 20 minutes to go to our favorite farmer's market (indoor for the winter) where they also serve brunch that fits our dietary needs. It's usually the one meal/week that someone else prepares for us, so we indulge and appreciate it. Then, we shop there for produce from farmers we have gotten to know and trust.
We come home and put away our market goodies and spend time as a family doing any housekeeping that needs done, or sometimes running an additional errand later in the day.

Hmmm....
Saturday (just like every other day) I am on my own because my husband is working. The dishes are done and caught up (I always seem to be behind), I have put three loads of my kid's laundry in, we have gone to Goodwill to get a laundry basket, the Mexican store for some bread, we watched the movie Nanny McFee while my baby was sleeping, and now we are waiting for a guy from Craigslist to show up and buy our basketball hoop. Tonight for dinner we are having carnitas because we are going to a family birthday party.
I am always more tired on the weekend.

Ours are crazy. I leave to work-out and then my husband drops our son off two hours later for swim lessons. He swims after class and I end up being there for almost 4-5 hours. It's exhausting but fun.

I need a nap when we get home but once our son crashes I get a second wind to get things done around the house.
