Is This a Legitimate Loan Company?

Hi everyone! I really need your advice. I applied for a loan through a sponsor company suggested on this website called Carlstadt Capital and was approved. The loan requires a secured amount of payments up front so I am hesitant to send it until I'm sure the company is legit. Our family is going through a lot so I can't afford to be cheated. If anyone has used this service, please let me know.

What can I do next?

I don't know anything personally about this company, but a simple google search returned a BBB report for them where they have an "F" rating. Here is the link to the report:

In general, I would think anyone who asks you to pay them in order for them to give you a loan is not on the up and up. Just my 2 cents.

Blessings,
N.

Don't do it and contact all of the credit bureaus and put a fraud alert on your credit report. This is a free service. Once you do this, if they try to open up credit in your name the alert will prompt the establishment to contact you at your home number. It will also stay active for a length of time. Do that today! Second if you provided any banking information, contact your bank. I work at a major company and am a fraud investigator. Never ever do business with a loan company that request fees up front, unless it is for a credit report. They can't tell you anything until they pull your credit, so they shouldn't ask for money for a service that they do not even know if they can provide. A company can really do a credit report for $25.00 but some will charge up to $65 (gives you a monetary amount). Check out the web link that someone provided.

If your applying for a loan, the only thing that you need to pay would be the credit report.
Up front payments? NEVER heard of that, it has to be a scam! I believe your instincts are right on.
Your concern right now would be to contact whatever source of personal information you gave them & alert those places/companies to the fact you may be a victim of fraud/identity theft. Good luck & don't feel too bad,it happens to all of us, we want to trust, but unfortunately not in this day & age, just start making it right.

I'm not sure I got it right from your question, but if you were referred to this loan company by an ad they placed here on Mamasource, then you should DEFINITELY contact Mamasource so that they can remove the ad right away.

I know that I trust Mamasource and would really be upset if I knew that they were advertising for a company that is actually running scams!

Good Luck!!

One of my former employees tried out one of these places--don't do it! They took her upfront payments and never delivered the loan. After she did some research, there was a class action suit filed against them.

This place sounds just like the one she dealt with. Plus, she had to shut down her bank account since they then had access to it due to the upfront payments.
